What changed

• Health in every batch status (optional fields, contract vexplor.edge/1 unchanged). The factory PC (CPU, memory, disk free, uptime, clock offset from the server), the line to the server (last success, last error, failures since, round trip, oldest waiting batch) and each machine (response time, read success over the last reads, reconnects, last drop). VEXPLOR AAS Studio 2.8.0 judges them OK · Warning · Problem on the Remote collectors screen; older servers accept the batches as before.
• MQTT broker logins from the factory PC's credentials.json — for links marked "Login required" in AAS Studio 2.8.0. Collectors before 1.1.0 connect to MQTT anonymously.
• A full disk no longer stops the collector. A batch it cannot write waits in memory (up to 1,000 batches / 100,000 values, oldest dropped first and counted) and is sent from there; the status carries the write error.
• Measured with this release's arm64 package in a clean Ubuntu 24.04 container against an AAS Studio 2.8.0 server: the PC, line and machine values arrived, an OPC UA PLC stopped for 20 s was reconnected with no restart, and the server judged the dip in read success as Warning.

What changed

• Reconnects to equipment by itself. When a PLC or MQTT broker restarts, or a PLC was off when the read list arrived, the collector closes that link and opens it again — after 1 s, then 2 s, 4 s … up to 60 s — without restarting the service. Connection errors now show on the server's status screen while a link is down.
• Measured with this release's x64 package in a clean Ubuntu 24.04 container: an OPC UA PLC was stopped for 20 s and started again; the collector reported the drop, reconnected after 4 attempts and values resumed with no restart.
• User guide: the three ways to place the server (inside the factory · outside with VEXPLOR Edge · outside with a VPN) in pictures, and a new chapter on what is set where (PLC addresses, register kinds, data types) and how values are read.

Install or upgrade: curl -fsSL https://github.com/waceinc/vexplor-edge/releases/latest/download/get.sh | sudo bash -s -- --server <URL> --code <CODE> (the server screen makes this line). To upgrade an installed collector, replace the binary — see the user guide, chapter 15.

VEXPLOR Edge 1.0.0 — the remote collector, on its own

The program you put on one factory PC: it reads only the machines a person approved and sends their values out over
HTTPS. Outbound only, read only, no remote stop. Contract vexplor.edge/1.

One-click install

On VEXPLOR AAS Studio 2.7.0 or later: Settings → Remote collectors → "+ Connect a collector", then paste the line
it shows on the factory Linux PC:

get.sh picks the package for the PC's CPU, checks it against SHA256SUMS, installs, registers and starts the service.

In this release

• Moved out of VEXPLOR AAS Studio into its own repository (history kept), with its own version.
• Registers with the PC's hostname, says after register whether its list is already approved, and vexplor-edge --version.
• get.sh — the one-line downloader, pinned to this release.
• Equipment readers from AAS Studio's release libraries (@aas/collector, @aas/fieldbus, @aas/opcua 2.7.0);
  node-opcua pinned to the version AAS Studio is tested with (a newer one broke OPC UA inside the package).
