PyQt6 GUI to adjust mouse and touchpad pointer speed per device on Xorg,
via xinput. Designed for lightweight window managers (Openbox, JWM,
iceWM, Fluxbox) where no graphical tool exists.

What's in this release

Added

  • 14 UI languages: English plus German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese
    Simplified and Traditional, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian,
    Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Korean and Spanish (Qt .ts/.qm workflow).
  • XDG support: the configuration file honors $XDG_CONFIG_HOME,
    falling back to ~/.config/xinput-plus.json.
  • Per-device profiles by ID and by name, device whitelist with
    "show only whitelist" mode, natural scrolling, tap-to-click,
    and an "extra speed" mode (up to 2.0) using the Coordinate
    Transformation Matrix when libinput Accel Speed is not available.
  • Man page, .desktop entry, AppStream metadata and SVG application icon.

Changed

  • Shebang switched to #!/usr/bin/python3 (Debian packaging policy).
  • Application icon fixed to render in GTK menus (gdk-pixbuf) as well as
    Qt surfaces.

Install the .deb

sudo apt install ./xinput-plus_6.6.5-1_all.deb
xinput-plus

Requirements are pulled in automatically: python3-pyqt6, xinput,
qt6-svg-plugins.

Run from source (no install)

python3 xinput-plus.py

Note: this program works on Xorg only (not Wayland).
Tested on AV Linux MXe (Debian 13 / MX Linux 25 base).
