[v3] Fix runtime compatibility with safari

Description

In my pull request #3295 I introduced some class fields in the JS runtime.

This is only supported by very recent versions of Safari, so I'm reverting that change for improved compatibility.

Note that this reproposes #3332, which was closed accidentally.
