v1.0.7 upgrades Pi-Harness from a desktop configuration manager into a complete native workspace for Pi Coding Agent. Manage Pi configuration and skills, open real projects, run persistent Pi sessions, inspect tool calls, edit files, and work with Git without leaving the desktop app.

macOS builds are unsigned. On first launch, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or run:

xattr -cr /Applications/Pi-Harness.app

Highlights

  • Native Agent Workspace: projects, persistent Pi Sessions, streaming chat, image attachments, thinking, tool calls, token/context statistics, abort, compaction, forks, and full history.
  • Shared Pi sessions: Session JSONL under ~/.pi/agent/sessions/ remains compatible with Pi CLI. Agent execution runs in Electron Main and streams through typed IPC; no iframe or HTTP server is required.
  • Project-first workflow: a project is required before starting a conversation. Project/session state, tabs, disabled actions, and empty states now stay consistent.
  • Lightweight code editor: edit authorized text files with CodeMirror, syntax highlighting, find, undo/redo, unsaved buffers, Cmd/Ctrl+S, explicit save, and SHA-256 external-change conflict protection. This is intentionally not a full IDE or LSP host.
  • Files and Git: hidden files and node_modules are visible; upload with size validation and overwrite confirmation; manual/automatic refresh; Git Diff and Worktree management.
  • Chat UX: Enter sends, Shift+Enter inserts a newline, sessions open at the bottom, and floating controls jump to the top or bottom. Streaming stays pinned only while the user remains near the bottom.
  • AI Motion execution state: the full-window AI Motion effect appears only while an Agent is sending, running, streaming, or processing a prompt—not while the composer is merely focused.
  • Skills and extensions: curated extension marketplace, package suites, individual install/uninstall, bulk install/uninstall, and improved missing-directory handling.
  • Interaction polish: clearer pressed/selected states, disabled actions render as disabled, improved tabs and context menus, and refined Provider/Model forms.
  • Reliability and security: trusted IPC validation, authorized-root path checks, canonical real-path compatibility, atomic writes, backup retention cleanup, and external modification protection.
  • Branding and configuration: public environment variables now use PI_HARNESS_*; legacy PI_SWITCH_* variables remain supported for compatibility.
  • License: relicensed from MIT to GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only (AGPL-3.0-only).
