Wombat v0.1.1

The first stable Wombat release helps Codex users review local usage and configuration, act on evidence-backed findings, and verify the result.

Highlights

  • Review token usage, API cost estimates, tasks, turns, and timing from local Codex records.
  • Inspect AGENTS.md, Skills, MCP entries, and Hooks, then send selected findings to a compatible local Codex and recheck them.
  • Run wombat doctor for a read-only, offline check of the installation, PATH, bundled runtime, local core, and Codex data directory.
  • Install and open self-contained archives with one command, then use atomic, checksum-verified updates without a system Node.js, npm, Rust, pnpm, or compiler installation.

Supported archives: darwin-arm64, darwin-x64, linux-x64, linux-arm64, win32-x64.

Known limitations

  • Codex is the only production data source in this release; support for other agents is planned.
  • API costs are estimates. Unpriced or partial data stays explicit and is separate from subscription allowance.
  • Large first reads can take time. Project-level progress and per-project retry remain planned.
  • Optimization findings can remain unknown when runtime or history evidence is incomplete. A passed file check does not prove lower token usage.
  • Native handoff requires a compatible local Codex installation. Wombat currently provides local Web and CLI interfaces.

Verification and security

All five archives were built and exercised on their target platforms from commit d814db0f7b34b9a534da91e13d85c7f84da83c23. Installers and updates verify the published size and SHA-256 digest before switching versions. GitHub provides build provenance attestations for the platform archives. Wombat reads local sources without changing them; network behavior and native handoff follow the documented privacy boundaries.
