Every tag Hempdustry 2 defines, every convention (c:) and vanilla tag it adds entries to, and every tag it reads without defining — each with what it holds in 2.1.0 and what reads it. For pack makers and datapack authors; how to use them in a pack is on Modpack Guide.

On this page: Editing a tag · Tags you can add to · Tags the mod fills for others · Vanilla tags it joins · Tags it reads but does not define · Differences on Minecraft 1.21.1 · On the Forge builds

Everything here is the same on Fabric and NeoForge, and on every Minecraft version except where the last three sections say otherwise.

Editing a tag

A tag is a datapack file, data/<namespace>/tags/<kind>/<path>.json — item, block, worldgen/biome, banner_pattern and so on. A file of your own adds to the mod's (tag files merge); "replace": true throws away everything loaded before it.

{
  "values": [
    { "id": "examplemod:steel_knife", "required": false }
  ]
}

Watch out: mark another mod's ids "required": false. A single entry that cannot be found makes the game drop the whole tag, with one line in the server log to say so — every entry in it, the mod's own included.

Tags are re-read by /reload. A change to a biome tag needs a restart and only affects chunks generated afterwards. The tag ids below never change between releases; what is in them may (Stability Promise).

Tags you can add to

The mod's own tags. Each one is an integration hook: put an item or block in it and the mod treats it as the tag says. Item tags show in JEI, REI and EMI under the name given.

Item tags

Tag Holds Read by Shown as
#hempdustry:hemp_seeds Purple Kush Seeds, Lemon Haze Seeds, Beldía Seeds chickens and parrots, through #minecraft:chicken_food and #minecraft:parrot_food; the Toasted Hemp Seeds (furnace, smoker, campfire), Hemp Flour and Bucket of Hemp Milk recipes; the advancements High Hopes and Pretty Polly Hemp Seeds
#hempdustry:milk_buckets Milk Bucket, Bucket of Hemp Milk, and #c:buckets/milk (optional) the Infuser's recipe (container): what can be poured into the tub. The Bucket of Bhang and Space Cake recipes Milk Buckets
#hempdustry:edibles Cannabutter Toast, Space Cookie, Space Brownie, Bucket of Bhang, Dawamesk the advancement Give It an Hour. Space Cake is left out because a slice is eaten from the placed cake, not as an item Edibles
#hempdustry:hemp_seed_foods Toasted Hemp Seeds, Hemp Seed Bar, Siemieniotka the advancement Hemp Hearts Hemp Seed Foods
#hempdustry:hemp_armor_repair Hemp Fiber what repairs the hemp outfit on an anvil. Not on Minecraft 1.21.1 Hemp Armor Repair Materials
#hempdustry:siftable/flower Purple Kush Buds, Lemon Haze Buds the Sifting Box: one level each, so seven fill it Siftable Flower
#hempdustry:siftable/resinous Beldía Buds the Sifting Box: two levels each, so four fill it Resinous Siftable Flower
#hempdustry:siftable/trim Hemp Leaf the Sifting Box: a 15% chance of a level each, about 47 to fill it Siftable Trim
#hempdustry:siftable/kief Kief the Sifting Box's second, finer pass: a 25% chance of a level each, giving Filtered Kief at about three to one Siftable Kief
#hempdustry:hash_cutters #minecraft:swords and #c:tools/knife, both optional what cuts a Hashish Bar or a Filtered Hashish Bar into pieces; the advancement Cloud Nine. Shears are left out on purpose: in this mod they trim plants Hash Cutters

The three plant tags (flower, resinous, trim) are sifted dry into kief or washed in iced water into bubble hash; the rates above are the dry ones, and the ice around a wash scales them. Plant matter and kief never share a screen. Bubble hash and filtered kief are in no siftable tag: they are already the clean end of their road.

Block tags

Tag Holds Read by
#hempdustry:heat_sources #minecraft:campfires, Furnace, Smoker, Blast Furnace, Magma Block, lava, Lava Cauldron, Decarboxylator the block under an Infuser or a Hemp Press: is it hot? A block with a lit state counts only while lit — a furnace only while it is smelting — and one without (magma, lava) always does
#hempdustry:hemp_crops Purple Kush Crop, Lemon Haze Crop, Beldía Crop creepers drawn to hemp (a plant two blocks tall under open sky); the advancement Trim Season; breaking a Grow Pot or Hydro Tray, which harvests a plant on it first
#hempdustry:grow_lamps Grow Lamp counts as a Grow Lamp over a plant, whatever its light level; a block with a lit state counts only while lit
#hempdustry:not_grow_lights #minecraft:campfires, #minecraft:fire, lava, Lava Cauldron bright, but never a light over a plant. Any other block of light level 15 helps a plant below it: one with a lit state (a redstone lamp, a copper bulb) as a lamp, one without (glowstone, a sea lantern) a little less
#hempdustry:beldia_soil Sand, Red Sand, and #c:sands (optional) where Beldía can be planted outside a Grow Pot or Hydro Tray, and where wild Beldía generates. Not #minecraft:sand, which holds suspicious sand

#hempdustry:mildew_resistant (Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 only) is empty. Put a crop block in it and that plant never catches powdery mildew. Hemp's own three crops are not in it.

Biome tags

Where each wild plant generates (see Finding Hemp). Every c: tag and every other mod's biome is an optional entry, so a missing one costs nothing.

Tag Wild plant Holds
#hempdustry:indica_flower_gen Wild Purple Kush plains, jungle, sparse jungle, bamboo jungle, swamp, mangrove swamp; #c:is_jungle, #c:is_swamp; Biomes O' Plenty rainforest, fungal jungle, bayou, floodplain, wetland, mystic grove, lush grassland; Regions Unexplored rainforest, sparse rainforest, tropics, bayou, old growth bayou, marsh, fungal fen; Terralith tropical jungle, rocky jungle, jungle mountains, amethyst rainforest, orchid swamp
#hempdustry:indica_flower_gen_cave Wild Purple Kush, underground lush caves; #c:is_lush; Terralith underground jungle
#hempdustry:sativa_flower_gen Wild Lemon Haze savanna, savanna plateau, windswept savanna, sunflower plains; #c:is_savanna; Biomes O' Plenty savanna, lush savanna, prairie, grassland, mediterranean forest; Regions Unexplored prairie, steppe, baobab savanna, outback; Terralith arid highlands, brushland, shrubland, savanna slopes
#hempdustry:sativa_flower_gen_sparse Wild Lemon Haze, thinner wooded badlands; Biomes O' Plenty dryland; Terralith savanna badlands, red oasis; Regions Unexplored mesa spires
#hempdustry:sativa_flower_gen_rare Wild Lemon Haze, rarest badlands, eroded badlands
#hempdustry:beldia_gen wild Beldía, a ripe crop #c:is_desert

The three Lemon Haze tags are tiers, each with its own density: keep a biome in one of them only. On NeoForge each tag is read by one of the mod's biome modifiers (Modpack Guide); on Fabric, by the mod's code.

Banner pattern tag

Tag Holds Read by
#hempdustry:pattern_item/hemp_leaf the banner pattern hempdustry:hemp_leaf the Hemp Leaf in a loom's pattern slot offers every pattern in this tag. Add a pattern of your own and the same leaf unlocks it too

Tags the mod fills for others

Convention tags, so another mod's recipes and machines find hemp without either mod knowing about the other. Nothing in vanilla reads them. Where a parent tag such as #c:crops holds only subtags, the mod adds a subtag of its own (#c:crops/hemp) and files that under the parent, as every other mod does.

Tag Holds Shown as
#c:crops/hemp, in #c:crops Purple Kush Buds, Lemon Haze Buds, Beldía Buds, Hemp Leaf Hemp Crops
#c:bricks/hemp, in #c:bricks Hemp Brick Hemp Bricks
#c:storage_blocks/hemp, in #c:storage_blocks (item and block) Hemp Bale Hemp Storage Blocks
#c:concretes (item and block) Block of Hempcrete
#c:concrete_powders (item) Block of Hempcrete Powder
#c:strings Hemp Fiber
#c:leathers Hemp Canvas
#c:buckets/milk Bucket of Hemp Milk
#c:armors Hemp Beanie, Hemp Shirt, Hemp Harem Pants, Flip Flops
#c:music_discs both music discs, Moonlight and Robadob
#c:foods Toasted Hemp Seeds, Hemp Seed Bar, Cannabutter Toast, Space Brownie, Dawamesk, Bucket of Bhang
#c:foods/cookie Space Cookie
#c:foods/soup Siemieniotka
#c:foods/edible_when_placed Space Cake

The dosed edibles are food and are filed as food. The Bucket of Hemp Milk is not, just as vanilla's milk bucket is not.

Vanilla tags it joins

Plants and farming

Tag Holds What it does
#minecraft:crops (block) the three crops bees pollinate them, through vanilla's #minecraft:bee_growables
#minecraft:maintains_farmland (block) Purple Kush Crop, Lemon Haze Crop the farmland under them never dries back to dirt. Beldía is never on farmland
#minecraft:enderman_holdable (block) Wild Purple Kush endermen can carry it off. Wild Lemon Haze is two blocks tall, and no tall plant may be in here
#minecraft:sword_efficient (block) Wild Purple Kush, Wild Lemon Haze a sword cuts them quickly
#minecraft:leaves (block) Block of Hemp Leaves shears break it fast, a hoe or sword too, and a growing tree replaces it, as with any leaves
#minecraft:goat_food Hemp Leaf breeds, leads and grows goats
#minecraft:chicken_food, #minecraft:parrot_food #hempdustry:hemp_seeds breeds chickens; tames parrots

Mining

Tag Holds
#minecraft:mineable/axe Sifting Box; the hemp plank set and Hemp Parquet set; Block of Hemp Bricks and its stairs, slab and wall
#minecraft:mineable/pickaxe Block of Hempcrete, Decarboxylator, Infuser, Hemp Press, Grow Lamp, Grow Pot, Hydro Tray
#minecraft:mineable/shovel Block of Hempcrete Powder
#minecraft:mineable/hoe Hemp Bale (the Block of Hemp Leaves gets the hoe through #minecraft:leaves)

Building and furniture

Tag Holds What it does
#minecraft:planks (block and item) Block of Hemp Planks any recipe that takes planks takes it
#minecraft:wooden_slabs, #minecraft:wooden_stairs (block and item) Hemp Planks Slab, Hemp Planks Stairs and through them #minecraft:slabs and #minecraft:stairs
#minecraft:slabs, #minecraft:stairs (block and item) Hemp Parquet Slab, Hemp Parquet Stairs, Hemp Bricks Slab, Hemp Bricks Stairs
#minecraft:wooden_fences, #minecraft:fence_gates, #minecraft:wooden_doors, #minecraft:wooden_trapdoors (block and item) the hemp plank fence, fence gate, door and trapdoor they connect and behave as wooden ones — a hemp fence joins an oak fence
#minecraft:wooden_buttons, #minecraft:wooden_pressure_plates (block and item) Hemp Planks Button, Hemp Planks Pressure Plate and through them #minecraft:buttons and #minecraft:pressure_plates
#minecraft:walls (block and item) Hemp Bricks Wall connects as a wall
#minecraft:signs, standing_signs, wall_signs, all_signs, ceiling_hanging_signs, wall_hanging_signs, all_hanging_signs (block); #minecraft:signs, #minecraft:hanging_signs (item) the hemp plank sign and hanging sign they work as vanilla signs
#minecraft:wooden_shelves (block and item) Hemp Shelf Not on Minecraft 1.21.1
#minecraft:non_flammable_wood (item) the whole hemp plank set, the Hemp Shelf and the Hemp Parquet set never furnace fuel, like crimson and warped — on both loaders
#minecraft:concrete_powder (block) Block of Hempcrete Powder joins vanilla's concrete powders
#minecraft:wool_carpets (block and item) Hemp Carpet counts as a wool carpet
#minecraft:dampens_vibrations (block and item), #minecraft:occludes_vibration_signals (block) Hemp Wool muffles sculk, as wool does. Hemp Wool is deliberately not in #minecraft:wool: that would let it stand in for wool in vanilla's painting recipe and undercut the canvas one
#minecraft:beds (block and item) Hemp Bed it is a bed to everything that asks

The outfit, the gear and the rest

Tag Holds What it does
#minecraft:chest_armor, #minecraft:leg_armor Hemp Shirt, Hemp Harem Pants armour for that slot, so they take armour enchantments
#minecraft:trimmable_armor Hemp Shirt, Hemp Harem Pants they take armour trims
#minecraft:enchantable/head_armor, #minecraft:enchantable/foot_armor Hemp Beanie, Flip Flops they take helmet and boot enchantments directly — no trim, as they have shapes of their own
#minecraft:enchantable/equippable Hemp Beanie, Flip Flops Curse of Binding
#minecraft:enchantable/durability Hemp Beanie, Flip Flops, Wooden Pipe, every bong, Redstone Vaporizer Unbreaking, Mending and Curse of Vanishing
#minecraft:freeze_immune_wearables Hemp Beanie no freezing in powder snow
#minecraft:dyeable Hemp Shirt, Hemp Harem Pants dyed in the crafting grid, washed in a cauldron
#minecraft:harnesses Hemp Harness a happy ghast wears it, ropes and all. Not on Minecraft 1.21.1
#minecraft:creeper_drop_music_discs both music discs a creeper killed by a skeleton can drop one, as it can vanilla's discs. This, not the loot injection, is where creeper drops come from, and loot.enabled does not change it
#minecraft:placeable (painting variant) the seven paintings they can come up when you hang a painting

Tags it reads but does not define

Convention tags from the loaders and other mods

Tag Read for Who defines it
#c:tools/shear what trims a plant and rubs charas off it; Trim Season the loaders, on every version
#c:fertilizers what feeds a Grow Pot or Hydro Tray (bone meal and any mod's fertiliser) the loaders, on every version
#c:sands through #hempdustry:beldia_soil: Beldía's ground NeoForge, and Fabric on 1.21.11 — not Fabric API 0.105.0 on 1.21.1
#c:buckets/milk through #hempdustry:milk_buckets: the Infuser's milk the loaders, on every version
#c:tools/knife through #hempdustry:hash_cutters: cutting a hash bar no loader; cooking mods that add knives
#c:is_jungle, #c:is_swamp, #c:is_savanna, #c:is_desert, #c:is_lush the wild plants' biome tags the loaders (#c:is_lush not on Fabric for 1.21.1)

Vanilla tags

Tag Read for
#minecraft:planks the Wooden Pipe and Hemp Bed recipes; any planks repair a Wooden Pipe on an anvil
#minecraft:dirt the Grow Pot recipe
#minecraft:swords through #hempdustry:hash_cutters
#minecraft:campfires, #minecraft:fire through #hempdustry:heat_sources and #hempdustry:not_grow_lights
#minecraft:supports_dry_vegetation (26.x) · #minecraft:dry_vegetation_may_place_on (1.21.11) · #minecraft:dead_bush_may_place_on (1.21.1) what Wild Lemon Haze can stand on besides dirt and farmland — sand and terracotta, the badlands' ground
#minecraft:water (fluid) the water within reach that Beldía's sand needs
#minecraft:bee_growables vanilla's; reaches hemp through #minecraft:crops, and decides whether bees pollinate it. There is no config setting for bees
#minecraft:can_equip_harness (entity type) who can wear the Hemp Harness. Not on Minecraft 1.21.1

Only on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3

  • #hempdustry:mildew_resistant (block), described above.
  • #hempdustry:sulfur_cube_archetype/footbag (item) holds the Hemp Bale. A large sulfur cube that swallows anything in it turns into a footbag; the behaviour itself is the datapack file data/hempdustry/sulfur_cube_archetype/footbag.json.
  • #minecraft:supports_crops and #minecraft:grows_crops are read, not filled: soil another mod puts in them takes hemp too (Minecraft 26.x).
  • No #minecraft:dyeable (it does not exist on 26.x): the shirt and pants are dyed with a crafting recipe each and washed through #minecraft:cauldron_can_remove_dye.
  • #minecraft:loom_patterns holds the Hemp Leaf, so a loom takes it for a banner pattern.
  • Wild Lemon Haze reads #minecraft:supports_dry_vegetation, 26.x's name for #minecraft:dry_vegetation_may_place_on.

Differences on Minecraft 1.21.1

  • No #hempdustry:hemp_armor_repair. Hemp Fiber repairs the outfit there too; on 1.21.1 the armour names its repair item itself, as vanilla's did before armour repair became a tag.
  • #minecraft:mineable/hoe names the Block of Hemp Leaves directly, because vanilla's hoe tag on 1.21.1 lists leaves one by one rather than through #minecraft:leaves.
  • No Hemp Shelf and no Hemp Harness, so no #minecraft:wooden_shelves, #minecraft:harnesses or #minecraft:can_equip_harness entries, and no shelf in #minecraft:non_flammable_wood.
  • Wild Lemon Haze reads #minecraft:dead_bush_may_place_on, the older name of the same idea.
  • Fabric API 0.105.0 has no #c:sands and no #c:is_lush. Beldía still grows on Sand and Red Sand, which #hempdustry:beldia_soil names directly, and wild Purple Kush still finds the lush caves, which its cave tag names directly. A newer Fabric API, NeoForge, or a mod that defines the tag brings the rest in.

On the Forge builds for Minecraft 1.18.2 and 1.16.5

The mod's own tags keep their ids, and the c: tags it fills are filled the same way. What differs:

  • The folders are tags/blocks/ and tags/items/, the names those versions use.
  • No biome tags. The wild plants are placed in code, by biome, so the six biome tags above do not exist and editing biome tags does not move them.
  • Two tags of the mod's own take the place of loader tags: #hempdustry:shears (Shears, and #c:tools/shear, #c:shears and #forge:shears, all optional) is what trims a plant and rubs charas off it, and #hempdustry:fertilizers (Bone Meal, and #c:fertilizers and #forge:fertilizers) is what feeds a Grow Pot or Hydro Tray. Add another mod's shears or fertiliser to either.
  • #hempdustry:hash_cutters names the six vanilla swords one by one, and the knife tags #c:tools/knife, #c:tools/knives and #forge:tools/knives. #hempdustry:milk_buckets also reads #c:milk_buckets, which the Bucket of Hemp Milk joins.
  • Forge's own convention tags are filled too: #forge:string (Hemp Fiber), #forge:leather (Hemp Canvas), #forge:crops/hemp (in #forge:crops), #forge:storage_blocks/hemp (in #forge:storage_blocks) and #forge:armors.
  • These vanilla tags are not joined there, most of them because those versions do not have them: chicken_food, parrot_food, goat_food, dyeable, the enchantable/ tags, chest_armor, leg_armor, trimmable_armor, all_signs and the hanging-sign tags, the item tag fence_gates, concrete_powder, dampens_vibrations, maintains_farmland, sword_efficient and the painting tag, nor #hempdustry:hemp_armor_repair and the banner pattern tag. Feeding hemp seeds to chickens and parrots, and the Hemp Leaf to goats on 1.18.2, is done in code there. The Hemp Carpet is in #minecraft:carpets, the older name of wool_carpets.
  • On 1.16.5 also: no mineable/ tags (Minecraft 1.16.5 sets each block's tool in code), no occludes_vibration_signals or freeze_immune_wearables, and no Lava Cauldron in #hempdustry:heat_sources or #hempdustry:not_grow_lights.
