Silently discarded work when Codex (or any agent) forgot to commit — if an agent edited files in the worktree and set status: done without running git commit, Watchfire saw no diff on the branch, skipped the merge, and auto-deleted the branch and worktree — losing everything the agent did. MergeWorktree now runs git add -A && git commit --no-verify inside the worktree as a safety net before the diff check, so uncommitted edits are always captured even when the agent skips the commit step
Codex commit instruction not emphatic enough — the base Watchfire system prompt already tells agents to commit before marking a task done, but Codex didn't consistently follow it. Codex sessions' per-session AGENTS.md now includes an additional, explicit CRITICAL: Commit before marking a task done addendum at the end, making the rule the last thing Codex reads before starting work
