🪕 New style: bluegrass

  • 25 bluegrass grooves: boom-chuck, Carter scratch, Flatt and McCoury G runs, crosspicking, Scruggs-style roll, train, gospel, newgrass…, plus 3 plain grooves without runs to play over
  • 7 progression templates: I-IV-V, breakdown, ragtime, gospel, fiddle tune, mixolydian I-bVII, minor i-bVII
  • 6 bluegrass example songs (Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Salty Dog Blues, Rocky Top, Man of Constant Sorrow…): 90 songs in total
  • 3 plain blues grooves (blues/plain, plain-strum, plain-slow): root, fifth and chord, no boogie or walking

🔊 Audio engine

  • renders at 48 kHz, the native rate of the Salamander drums: cymbals more open (+2.5 dB above 12 kHz)
  • band-limited FFT resampling for pitch shifts, cached SFZ maps: faster renders (Back in Black 3.4 → 2.6 s)
  • humanized guitars: every note slightly detuned (±4 cent) and with varying level, like a real player

🎸 Fender is the default guitar

The Fender solid body (FreePats, CC0) is now the default for every style and setup downloads it with the Gretsch
(first download ~460 MB). Gretsch, Epiphone and acoustic are still there with guitar:.

📖 Documentation website

https://wdog.github.io/backingtrack/: tabs, sub-menus, search, dark Dracula theme, in English and Italian.
One page per groove style and per example style. The README is now short (90 lines) and links to the site.
