First official release.

Added

• Choose Model, Reasoning effort, then Standard or Fast in a sequential composer menu, with keyboard navigation and saved settings.
• Discover Codex models, supported efforts, and Fast tiers from App Server.

Changed

• Update the bundled KaTeX dependency to 0.18.7.
• Apply selected settings to Codex requests, including research-agent model and effort defaults.
• Show model names without descriptions and keep Codex sign-in status concise.
• Inherit Codex model, effort, and speed defaults on new installations; remove hardcoded model defaults and the bundled catalog.

Fixed

• Keep the picker open during mouse selection in Zotero on macOS, and prevent model rows from overlapping or overflowing.

Removed

• The API-key provider, direct Responses transport, shell configuration reader, safety identifier, key-check script, and environment launcher. AItero now requires Codex with ChatGPT sign-in.

Validation

• All 66 automated tests pass after a clean dependency install.
• English-only content check passes.
• Two XPI builds are byte-identical and the SHA-256 checksum verifies.

AItero Assistant v0.3.1

Changes

• Allow installation and the macOS launcher on Zotero 10 and later, removing the 10.0.x upper limit.
• Set the Codex parent, research agents, and API-key provider defaults to gpt-6-astra with xhigh reasoning and fast service tier. Explicit API model overrides remain supported.
• Fix citation navigation when a PDF Reader is still initializing, and avoid navigating twice when opening a PDF.

Validation

• All 63 automated tests passed.
• Verified plugin loading, six-page PDF extraction including a blank page, citation navigation, and a live Astra xhigh/fast Codex response in an isolated Zotero 10.0.2 profile on macOS.
• Rebuilt the XPI with byte-identical output and verified its SHA-256 checksum.

Zotero 10.0.2 is the tested runtime. Later versions are permitted by the manifest but still require runtime validation as Zotero's internal APIs change.

Install

Download the XPI and checksum below. In Zotero, choose Tools → Plugins → Install Plugin From File…, select the XPI, and restart Zotero.
