@what256 what256 released this 18 Apr 11:22

First public release of MetaStrip.

A local, no-telemetry Windows desktop app that wraps ExifTool with a
modern GUI. View, edit, and strip EXIF / IPTC / XMP / GPS metadata from
photos. ExifTool is bundled, so end users need zero external dependencies.

Highlights

  • Drag & drop a single photo, a folder, or a mix — singles go to Inspect,
everything else to Batch (up to 500 photos at a time).
  • Per-field strip, one-click "Strip all" / "Strip GPS", Undo toast.
    Originals are never modified.
  • Metadata editor with inline diff, GPS pins on an interactive map with
reverse geocoding, JSON / CSV / XML export.
  • Command palette (Ctrl+K), keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+?), dark + light
    theme.

Install

Download MetaStrip_0.1.0_x64_en-US.msi below and run it. The installer
is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run — that's
expected for a new OSS project. See CONTEXT.md for the signing roadmap.

Privacy

No telemetry, no analytics, no calls home. The only outbound network
calls the app ever makes are when you paste a URL in "Open from URL",
and reverse-geocoding on the Map tab (GPS coordinates → OpenStreetMap
Nominatim).
