• The album editor has a Get credits online button. It looks the record up and writes the composer and producer that your files are missing, then tells you what it filled in and where it came from.
• Settings, Library, Scanning has a run for the whole library. It says which record it is on, keeps going while you use the app, and Stop leaves it exactly where it is. Starting it again carries on from there instead of going back to the beginning.
• Only empty fields are filled. A composer or producer already on a track is never changed, whatever either site has for it, so this cannot overwrite work you did by hand.
• MusicBrainz is asked first, since it keeps credits as data rather than prose. Wikipedia is asked only about what is still blank, which is where the rap and soul records come good: it reads the producer column out of the track listing, and on jazz articles it reads the plain numbered list and the "all compositions by" line above it.
• Names are tidied on the way in. MusicBrainz writes Gil Scott-Heron with a typographic hyphen that would have made a second artist page, and Wikipedia names people in full once and by surname after that, so a bare "Shakur" becomes Tupac Shakur rather than a person of his own.
• An album is only read when the article is genuinely that record by that artist. Without both checks a search for Virgo Red returns a different Roy Ayers album, and one for The Saxophones Of Sonny Stitt returns the album called Sonny Stitt, and either would have credited the wrong record.
• A record that neither site has is passed over and not asked about again, but one that failed because a site did not answer comes round again on the next run.
• The producer credit still cannot go into an .m4a, so there it stays in the app and the count says so rather than claiming the file changed.
