GARU Updates

GARU 0.5.2 — September 2, 2026

This patch release publishes signed Windows and macOS desktop builds. Linux/AppImage and .deb packaging are excluded.

GARU 0.5.1 — September 2, 2026

GARU 0.5.1 is a reliability update for desktop launches, backups, and project saves.

  • Fixed the extra black Windows console window.
  • Added project save status and last-saved time feedback.
  • Create a backup confirmation before installing an update.
  • Validate backups before creating imported projects.
  • Delete recovery drafts without deleting saved snapshots or project data.
  • Show clear snapshot-save feedback and label the Collection Health control “View collection chart.”

GARU 0.5.0 — September 2, 2026

GARU 0.5.0 makes project state durable and generation work safer to manage.

  • Persist complete project state in the desktop project database, including attributes, ordering, rules, curation selections, current generation, templates, snapshots, custom-token metadata, and settings.
  • Keep existing projects intact across app updates and migrate older saved data automatically.
  • Name the collection directly from the header beside the GARU logo.
  • See clear feedback while generating and after saving a snapshot.
  • Confirm before replacing a generation that has not been saved as a snapshot.

GARU 0.4.6 — September 2, 2026

GARU 0.4.6 adds complete recovery drafts and portable project backups.

  • Recover the latest complete project state after an interrupted session.
  • Export and import portable .garu backups containing assets and project data.
  • Preserve settings, 1/1 metadata, snapshots, templates, and token numbering through recovery and backup workflows.

GARU 0.4.5 — September 2, 2026

GARU 0.4.5 keeps collection numbering and snapshot restoration consistent through the final export.

  • Added collection-wide token-number randomization across generated and 1/1 tokens.
  • Preserved randomized token order in projects, snapshots, ZIP, CSV, and JSON exports.
  • Fixed snapshot restoration for 1/1 token names, descriptions, attributes, and artwork URLs.
  • Removed the redundant final-snapshot action from Launch.

GARU 0.4.4 — September 1, 2026

GARU 0.4.4 is a focused maintenance release that makes trait editing feel more precise.

  • Improved Build attribute editing so the trait rename pencil stays aligned to the right of each trait name.

GARU 0.4.3

  • Fixed rarity-type selection so changing one trait no longer resets other traits’ rarity settings or weights.

GARU 0.3.0

  • Aligned generated-token rarity ranking with the open-source OpenRarity information-content model.
  • Added entropy-normalized rarity scores, unique-attribute priority, and competition ranking for ties.
  • Included saved custom-token metadata and null-value frequencies in collection rarity statistics.
  • Limited metadata network selection to Ethereum and migrated previously saved network values to Ethereum.

GARU 0.2.3

  • Added confirmed trait deletion and drag-and-drop trait moves between categories in Manage → Attributes.

  • Added Preview trait dragging, category deletion, and collection-wide attribute deletion with confirmations.

  • Moving traits now recalculates both affected category budgets and refreshes generated previews immediately.

  • Added an in-app update popup with the GARU desktop icon.

  • The popup shows the installed version, new version, release notes, and Update now/Later actions.

  • Increased the Token limit to 10,000.

  • Added progressive gallery loading in groups of 100 as you scroll.

  • Connected the Preview Token count with Settings, rarity planning, generation, charts, and exports.

  • Added a Rarity Chart for category percentages, edition amounts, and trait counts.

  • Added Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic rarity types.

  • Added Randomize to build a balanced rarity economy from the Token count.

  • Added Undo to restore the setup before Randomize.

  • Added lock controls so selected traits are protected during Randomize.

  • Added Save Attributes for local rarity and amount persistence.

  • Added Asset Template saving for the current template, another existing template, or a new template.

  • Fixed Asset Template sorting so foreground layers appear above background layers.

Collection and asset workflow

  • Rebranded the application as GARU.
  • Added the GARU desktop icon and native window title.
  • Added one prepared-assets drop zone for collection folders, trait folders, and loose images.
  • Added a category picker for adding loose images to an existing or new category.
  • Added rounded single-image previews and a fan preview for multiple images.
  • Prevented duplicate traits when artwork is dropped more than once.
  • Added drag-and-drop category ordering.

  • Added visual rules for trait pairings and applied those rules during generation.
  • Added ZIP, OpenSea CSV, JSON metadata, and export manifest downloads.
