VOLT v2.0.0 — The Modern Engine

This release marks a total departure from the "Legacy" scalar implementation, moving to a high-performance, vectorized architecture.

🚀 Key Improvements over v1.0:

  • Performance: Switched from raw loops to Eigen for SIMD-optimized matrix operations.
  • Concurrency: Integrated OpenMP to parallelize training across CPU cores.
  • Modern Standards: Rewritten in C++20 using modern idioms and memory management.
  • Extensibility: Added support for Adam, Momentum, and RMSprop optimizers alongside 8+ activation functions.

📊 Benchmark (The "Victory Lap"):

  • Task: MNIST Digit Classification (7k train / 3k test)
  • Performance: ~2.8s for 19 epochs.
  • Convergence: 95% Test Accuracy.

🛠️ Technical Stack:

  • Language: C++20
  • Linear Algebra: Eigen (Submodule)
  • Parallelism: OpenMP
  • Build System: CMake
