Chill now plays MP3, FLAC, PCM WAV, and Ogg Vorbis with built-in decoding and native audio output. mpv is no longer required. FFmpeg supports additional formats and segmented streams, while yt-dlp and Deno, Node, or QuickJS handle website playback.

Saved volume levels keep the same gain curve. Playback trims MP3 encoder delay and padding, filters downsampling, follows chained Ogg streams, and cancels stale queued audio. Native stream tags feed now playing, and stalled HTTP reads time out without counting pauses.

Use chill doctor to see available capabilities and tools.json to set executable paths. Homebrew and Scoop retain FFmpeg, yt-dlp, and Deno for full playback support. Source builds now require CGO and a C compiler; downloaded binaries do not.
