if you want to build the client for yourself you specifically need to use java 1.8.0 temurin as the jdk to compile, you can git clone the client and then cd into the directory then once you have temurin JDK installed you can type JAVA_HOME=/home/yourdirectory/.jdks/temurin-1.8.0_482 JAVA_OPTS="" ./gradlew build
