Lyrics

• Lyrics for the playing song in Now Playing and in a side panel (Ctrl+L). Synced lyrics follow the song line by line; click a line to jump there.
• From .lrc files next to your songs, lyrics in the files, your Navidrome server, LRCLIB and YouTube Music.
• "Search lyrics online" in Settings turns LRCLIB off. Prism then sends nothing to lrclib.net.

First install

The installers are not code-signed yet, so your system will warn you the first time.

• Windows: if SmartScreen blocks the installer, click "More info", then "Run anyway".
• macOS: right-click Prism in Applications and choose "Open", then confirm. Or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Prism.app in Terminal.

Prism v1.0.0

First release of Prism, a music player for your own music, your Navidrome server, internet radio and YouTube Music, for Windows and macOS.

Library and formats

• Add folders and Prism keeps the library up to date as files change.
• Plays MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, WMA, APE, WavPack, Musepack, TTA, DSD and MKA/WebM audio, with gapless albums and optional crossfade.
• Albums, artists, playlists, search, a play queue and an up next panel, plus repeat and shuffle.
• Covers from tags, folders, or looked up online when missing.

Navidrome

• Connect to your Navidrome server and browse and stream it next to your local files.
• Hearts sync with the server's stars both ways, its playlists show up, and plays are scrobbled.
• Your password is kept in the system keychain.

Radio

• Search internet radio stations worldwide, or see stations near you.
• Your location is only used roughly, and you can set a country and region by hand instead.
• Save stations, see the current song, and reconnect automatically after a dropout.

YouTube Music

• Sign in to YouTube Music in its own window and play it from within Prism.
• Prism never sees your Google password.
• The YouTube queue shows in Prism's queue panel, and media keys control it like any other source.

Flow and favorites

• Flow plays an endless mix from your favorites in your library and on Navidrome.
• Favorite songs, albums, artists and stations, all in one place.

Mini player, tray and media keys

• A small always-available mini player, optionally on top of other windows.
• Tray icon (Windows) and menu bar item (macOS) with playback controls.
• Media keys and the system media controls follow whichever source is playing; a global shortcut shows or hides the mini player.

Languages

• English and German.

Updates

• Prism checks for updates in the background and installs them when you quit or when you choose "Restart to update". Updates never interrupt what you are listening to.
