Issues to be reviewed

In progress

  1. A product definition template for statistics over an ensemble Presented by Mr. Pelletier. Approved for validation.

In validation

  1. Representing gnomonic grids Mr. Ator presented the proposal.
  2. New Table 4.2 entries proposed by Canada Mr. Kralidis presented the proposal and said that some changes suggested by other members. Proposed for next ft.
  3. New GRIB2 code Table 4.2 entries requested by Norway Approved for next fast track.

Submitted

  1. New Sequence and descriptors for GNSS Slant Total Delay BUFR Ms. Krebber presented the sequence and requested the team to accept for validation with the aim to be included in FT-2021-1. The opportunity to put the notes in a column description has been discussed. The option of dividing into two sequences has been discussed. Accepted for validation.
  2. new entries in BUFR flag table 0-33-066 Mr. Ator will provide samples for validation as requested. Approved for validation with the aim to finalise by FT-2020-2.
  3. New BUFR Table B and D descriptors for scatterometer data Mr. Ator introduced the proposal and requested the have the proposal approved for validation with the aim for FT-2020-2. Approved for validation. A request to the Secretariat to provide a validation template to be used as a comment in the GitHub issue. The team discussed the fact that there are other sequences for scatterometer data and in Europe, KNMI is sending most of the scatterometer data in another sequence. Another sequence for a scatterometer has been proposed in another issue for CFOSAT (https://github.com/wmo-im/BUFR4/issues/20). The team decided to consider the two proposals independently and avoid merging the two. Approved for validation with the aim to finalise by FT-2020-2.
  4. Proposal for new BUFR table entries for Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich Introduced by Mr. Elliott. New satellite to be launched with a new altimeter sensor. The proposal approved for validation with the aim to include it in FT-2020-2.
  5. Table D sequence for reporting scatterometer data from CFOSAT Mr. Elliott introduced the proposal and discussed it in comparison with the previous proposal. (https://github.com/wmo-im/BUFR4/issues/20) Approved for validation with the aim to finalise by FT-2020-2.
  6. New BUFR sequences for encoding IKFS2 products Presented by Mr. Lee. Comment by Ms. Krebber regarding the specificity of the flag's name and requested to make them more generic to be reusable for other instruments.
  7. Correct clerical error in BUFR Table B entry 0-40-063 Accepted to be corrected in the next fast track.

In validation

  1. Additional bio-geochemical sequences for data from Argo profiling floats. Plan to be validated shortly for the next fast track.
  2. Table D sequence for reporting marine observations from unmanned surface vehicles Plan to validate in the next two weeks and to include in the next fast track.

Submitted

All following proposals approved for the next fast track by the team.

  2. Amendment to Common Code table C-3 by Japan
  3. Add a new entry to Common Code Tables C-11 to identify IAP
  4. new CCT C-1/11, C-5 and C-8 entries for commercial providers of radio occultation data
  5. Proposal for new entries in Common Code Tables C5 and C8
  6. Proposal for new entry in Common Code Tables C5
  7. New sub-category for TC tracks from deterministic in C-13
