Tables, private images, and workspace improvements

This release adds spreadsheet-style Tables, live database connections, private image uploads, and profile pictures, alongside workspace customization and reliability improvements.

New features

  • Spreadsheet Tables: Typed columns, keyboard cell editing, full-dataset sorting and filters, column calculations, customizable number formatting, and CSV/JSON import and export.
  • Live database connections: Connect PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite tables with encrypted connection settings, workspace permissions, and version-checked cell updates.
  • Private images: Upload, paste, or drop images into task bodies, subtasks, comments, and replies. Includes upload retry controls, recoverable drafts, and Gallery image carousels.
  • Profile pictures: Upload, replace, or remove account photos, with initial-based avatar fallbacks.

Workspace and interface improvements

  • Separate Account settings for profiles, appearance, security, and personal tokens from Workspace settings for workspace administration.
  • Searchable icon selection and custom colors for projects, folders, lists, Documents, and Tables. Heading icons can be changed independently of titles.
  • Administrator control over the By WNZN sidebar attribution.
  • Refined Table headers, type badges, toolbars, menus, and mobile controls.
  • Clearer loading, error, and retry states across workspace controls.
  • Removed the misleading highlight from sorted List headers while retaining the sort-direction indicator.
  • Replaced the editor's Image text button with an accessible picture icon.

Reliability and fixes

  • Migrated integration workflows to Effect 4, improving automation failure isolation, execution leases, cancellation, and network-resource cleanup.
  • Preserved unsaved Document content during title/icon changes and strengthened task-draft conflict recovery.
  • Fixed Table import mapping, nullable checkbox values, hierarchy depth handling, and live database revision checks.
  • Improved export snapshot consistency, permission rechecks, timeouts, and cleanup.
  • Coordinated account and token updates to prevent credential-change races.

Documentation and upgrade notes

  • Refreshed the README with a new hero image, clearer feature highlights, complete setup instructions, and streamlined documentation links.
  • Added guides for private images, profile photos, appearance controls, and Effect workflows.
  • Includes database migrations 0006–0011, applied through the normal API startup migration process.
  • Workspace JSON exports now use version 8; dedicated Table JSON transfer remains version 1.

@jenerestain jenerestain released this 11 Sep 00:44

Hopya v0.2.0 expands the core workspace experience with a more cohesive interface, first-class documents, and a visual automation builder.

1. Platform UI and UX

  • Refined workspace navigation, hierarchy controls, dialogs, forms, and responsive layouts for a more consistent desktop and mobile experience.
  • Standardized selects, icons, field controls, and inline editing behavior across task and workspace settings.
  • Improved task views, including clearer status and priority presentation, better Gallery layouts, and safer draft/conflict handling while editing.

2. Documents

  • Added first-class documents at the workspace root or inside projects and folders.
  • Added document-backed pages and nested subpages while preserving task data and hierarchy behavior.
  • Added rich-text editing, anchored inline discussions, reactions, deep links, highlights, attribution, and permission-aware controls.
  • Included documents, pages, comments, and reactions in workspace exports and upgrade-safe SQLite/PostgreSQL migrations.

3. Automation UX

  • Added a graphical automation builder with typed triggers, actions, conditions, branches, draft editing, publishing, and immutable version history.
  • Improved graph layout, edge routing, connection selection, execution ordering, and responsive editor controls.
  • Added a clearer Run Monitor with node-level status, sanitized logs, formatted JSON output, and easier collapsed/expanded inspection.
  • Added workspace-scoped encrypted credentials, OAuth 2.0 PKCE support, pinned outbound HTTP transport, and permission-scoped task updates.
  • Existing linear automations remain compatible and are migrated without discarding published versions or queued runs.

Container Images

This tag publishes:

  • ghcr.io/wnzn/hopya-api:v0.2.0
  • ghcr.io/wnzn/hopya-web:v0.2.0

GHCR visibility is configured at the package level. Once the hopya-api and hopya-web packages are made public in the organization package settings, these images can be pulled anonymously.

Upgrade Notes

  • Back up application data and the private .env before upgrading.
  • Existing installations must configure AUTOMATION_KEYRING before creating or using automation credentials. The deployment guide includes generation and rotation guidance.
  • Database migrations run during API startup. Keep every key referenced by retained automation credential versions available in encrypted backups.
  • Hopya remains an early release; review the deployment and security documentation before exposing it beyond localhost.

Verification

Release work was validated under the required Node 24 runtime with API, web, and initializer tests; clean typechecks; production builds; focused SQLite/PostgreSQL migration coverage; and graph utility tests. Browser automation and operator-specific external OAuth, SMTP, S3, and AI providers were not exercised for this release.

@jenerestain jenerestain released this 09 Sep 21:42

Hopya v0.1.0 is the first public early release of Hopya, a self-hosted task manager for private team workspaces.

Highlights

  • Organize work with multiple workspaces, projects, folders, standalone lists, tasks, subtasks, checklists, configurable statuses, and custom fields.
  • Work across List, Board, Calendar, Gallery, and Timeline views with responsive, keyboard-accessible controls.
  • Collaborate through assignments, an Inbox, mentions, threaded comments, reactions, private attachments, and complete workspace exports.
  • Secure access with local accounts, workspace-scoped RBAC, protected ownership, audit records, revocable API tokens, optional OIDC, and optional password recovery.
  • Connect optional webhook, email, HTTP automation, AI-assisted proposals, S3-compatible storage, and read-only-by-default MCP transports.
  • Deploy with Docker Compose using SQLite by default or PostgreSQL, with hardened container defaults and no mandatory cloud dependency.

Container Images

The tag-triggered workflow published:

  • ghcr.io/wnzn/hopya-api:v0.1.0
  • ghcr.io/wnzn/hopya-web:v0.1.0

GHCR package visibility is managed separately from repository visibility. These first packages are currently private, so authorized users must authenticate Docker to ghcr.io before pulling them. Anonymous deployment should build from this release source with docker compose up -d --build --wait until the organization makes both packages public.

Verification

The release commit passes the complete non-browser npm run check under Node 24.20.0: 94 API tests, 49 web tests, eight initializer tests, all typechecks, and both production builds. Both clean-context Docker targets also build successfully. The tag workflow passed both publish jobs.

Early Release Notes

  • Back up application data and the private .env before upgrades or important use.
  • Browser/device behavior and external SMTP, OIDC, S3, AI, reverse-proxy, and certificate configurations require operator-specific verification.
  • Hopya supports one API replica. SQLite must use local persistent storage, not NFS.
  • Review the deployment and security documentation before exposing Hopya beyond localhost.

See the README, deployment guide, and security guidance for setup and operating details.
