Changed
- The nameplates are laid out again only when a nameplate setting changes. Every setting changed by the game or by another addon did it, twice (#127).
- The minimap coordinates are measured only when they change. They were measured ten times a second, standing still included (#127).
- The check that keeps a hidden key ring hidden rests while the key ring shows. It ran every frame (#127).

Version 0.20.4 (2026-10-04)

- Class colored health and Class colored name box, under Unit frames, are picked per frame: Player, Target and Focus in a drop-down under each option. All three are checked, so each option colors every frame as before; uncheck one to leave that frame as it was. The target can wear its class color while your own frame stays green.
- Name box color, under Unit frames: which frames' name box takes the game's color for the unit, blue for a friendly player and red for an enemy. Target and Focus are checked and Player is not, as in Classic Era. Uncheck Target for a plain name box there, or check Player to color your own.
Fixed
- Thick health bars in the style over the name: the player frame's name box no longer shows behind the bar. The target and focus frames already hid theirs.
- Unchecking Class colored name box puts the game's own color back on the target's and focus's name box at once. They stayed class colored until the target changed.

Version 0.20.3 (2026-10-04)

Changed
- The gryphons are saved with the edit mode layout, as the game's own pieces are. Each layout keeps its own places and sizes for them, picking a layout puts them there, and Save writes them into the active layout. On a game preset (Modern, Classic) Save asks for a new layout's name, and that layout takes them. Leaving edit mode without saving drops the move; it was kept (#126).
- A gryphon you moved before this version keeps its place on your own layouts until you move and save it there. On the game's presets the gryphons stand on the ends of the bar.
Fixed
- Classic layout, in the options, puts the gryphons on the ends of the bar when it sets up or switches to the ClassicUI Forever layout. They stayed wherever they had been moved.

- Open bags no longer jump sideways when an item is equipped by right-click, and no longer stay shifted for the rest of a fight. It could happen with action bars on the right side of the screen.

- Swing timers: changing a weapon in a fight no longer sets off a Lua error on every frame the swing bar shows. The flash as a swing lands keeps working after the change too.

Added
- Retail: a profession opens in the classic trade skill window: the recipes of the picked expansion, a rank bar, reagent counts across all qualities and the game's Use Best Quality check. Recipes with optional reagents and enchants are made in the game's window, one button away, and a size button beside the close button switches to the game's full window.
- Retail: the classic professions book, in the spellbook's frame. Its size button switches to the game's two-page book.
- Retail: a Spellbook button on the micro menu, beside Character, opens the classic spellbook.
- Retail: the game's talent window wears the classic frame: metal border, old tabs, buttons and drop-down.
- Retail: Achievements, Adventure Guide and Housing each have an icon on the minimap, on by default. They are under Micro buttons on the minimap, and each can be shown whether or not its button is on the micro menu.
- Retail: Quick Join is a tab under the Recent Allies list in the social window. Open Friends, then Recent Allies; the Quick Join tab under the list swaps to it and the Recent Allies tab swaps back.
- Retail's Help tab says where the Quick Join tab and the Achievements, Adventure Guide and Housing buttons went.
Changed
- Color themes use far less CPU. The colored art follows the game's art only when something changes; it was checked piece by piece every frame, and opened windows were walked again on a timer.
- Right-click menus on portraits, bags and windows open without a stutter. The game's menus were searched for among all of its frames, bags were dressed several times per opening, and the talent tree's nodes were walked with every window.
- The macro window's tabs are Classic Era's.
- Retail: Achievements, Adventure Guide and Housing are off the micro menu by default, as 1.x had none. Uncheck one under Hide micro buttons to bring it back. An install that already showed the Achievements button keeps it.
- Retail: Quick Join is off the social window's tab row.
- The Help tab's questions and What's New list only what applies to the game version you play. A version with nothing new for yours stays silent there.
- The Help tab's answer on collections names the Collections tab at the foot of the spellbook as a way in.
Fixed
- A spell shift-clicked from the classic spellbook into a macro goes in by name and rank, as from the game's book. It went in as a chat link, which a macro cannot cast. A talent shift-clicked from the classic talent window goes in by name too (#124).
- Shift-clicking a profession in the classic spellbook, to link it or put it in a macro, leaves the spellbook open.
- The game's drop-down menus, such as the status menu (Available, Away, Busy) and the minimap's tracking menu, have Classic Era's iron frame. 0.18.0 listed this, but those menus kept the plain border.
- A drop-down menu's border holds its rows' icons, arrows and highlight. On the minimap's tracking menu the icons stood outside it.
- The tabs under a window stay on its bottom border. At some interface sizes they climbed higher with every update, most of all on the Collections window, where they now also stand clear of the Mount button.
- Druid: the mana bar shown in forms follows the game's Status Text setting. With it off, the numbers show on hover only; they stayed up.
- Classic layout carries out every step even when one of them fails, and reports the one that failed. A failing step skipped the rest without a word.
- Retail: the Talents button opens the game's window on its talents, never on its own spellbook while the classic spellbook is on.
- Retail: the reputation and currency tabs keep the classic rows: even spacing, the old headers, bars in one column and no doubled bar art. A group of factions has its plus or minus button and its factions indented under it, the filter is a small arrow button at the top right, clear of the transfer log button, and the faction detail box is no longer doubled.
- Retail: the reagent bag stands in the key ring's old slot at the end of the bags, clear of the latency bar.
- Retail: no thin lines round the model in the character window, and one Who tab in the social window.
- Retail: window borders and corners stand where Forever's do.

Fixed
- Guild roster: clicking a member opens their notes and options for every member. In larger guilds many members opened nothing.
- Guild roster: far less CPU while it is open. The game's guild window, kept out of sight for member notes, was placed again every frame.
- Share Quest in the classic quest log works for any quest, right after logging in too. It worked only for quests of the zone the world map last showed, and otherwise said to open the map.
- An opened letter has the classic window frame, as the inbox does.
- Character sheet's side panel: no thin see-through line across it at some interface sizes.

Added
- The PvP tab of the classic character window has a side panel. The arrow at the bottom right widens the window, as on the Character tab, and lists your rank, the season's rank points and cap, and the next rank's rewards with where to buy them.
Changed
- The addon button bag's default spot on the minimap is left of the clock, clear of the group finder eye. One you dragged stays where you put it.
- Classic layout, in the options, also puts buttons dragged around the minimap back on their own spots.
Fixed
- The addon button bag leaves our own minimap icons, such as Legacy, on the minimap. It took them in with the other addons' buttons.
- A part of ClassicUI Forever that is turned off leaves the game's frames alone, so another addon that restyles them keeps its look. Cast animations, combo points, breath bars, the buff arrow, the quest tracker, the map's quest pane, the guild tab and the unit frames were set back to the game's look each time settings were applied.
- Small alignment fix on the bag windows' close buttons.
ClassicUIForever v0.18.0
ClassicUI Forever
Version 0.18.0 (2026-10-03)

Added
- Micro buttons on the minimap, under Minimap: any micro button as an icon on the minimap ring, whether or not it is hidden from the micro menu. Legacy and the group finder are on by default, so Legacy has a way in again; the rest are off.
- Shift-drag moves our minimap buttons around the ring: the options button, the addon button bag, the group finder eye, the micro button icons and the tracking spell icon.
- Objective tracker, under Quests, is one choice: the classic look, Classic Era's quest watch, the game's own, or hidden. Classic Era's watch is new: plain lines under the minimap, titles that turn bright gold when a quest is done, a click on a title to open the quest, shift-click to untrack, right-click for more. The classic look stays the default.
- Only in a group or dungeon, under Threat percent on target and focus: the threat percent shows only in a party or raid, or inside a dungeon or raid. Off by default.
- The game menu button's tooltip has Classic Era's descriptions under the title and under latency, framerate, bandwidth, download and addon memory.
Changed
- The options window is larger, and its long lists (hide micro buttons, minimap icons, chat buttons, unit frames, elite frames, flat color parts) are drop-downs. Rows are grouped by the piece they change, and Minimap and Chat have their own sections.
- The game's drop-down menus, such as the Available, Away and Busy status menu, use Classic Era's iron frame.
- Micro buttons keep their normal look while the game menu or the settings window is open, as in Classic Era. They turned gray.
- The options button's default spot on the minimap moved clear of the tracking magnifier. One you dragged stays where you put it, and it now moves with Shift held.
Fixed
- Reset toggles keeps the classic-sized bars when the interface is at Classic Era's size. It switched them back to the game's larger size.
- With a custom theme, the lower half of the tabs under the options window takes the theme color.
- On the ClassicUI Forever layout, the classic bar's art shows unless you hid it yourself in Edit Mode. A leftover Hide Bar Art setting could leave a new player with a bare bar.
- With Minimap unchecked in the options, the game's day and night icon, coordinates and calendar button stay where another addon puts them. One hidden by a minimap addon came back after a reload.

Version 0.17.0 (2026-10-02)

Added
- Track Recipe in the trade skill window lists the recipe's reagents in the objective tracker, and a chain link beside the window's title puts a link to your profession in chat, as in Wrath of the Lich King.
- The trade skill window's Filter is Classic Era's checkbox menu, with a Slots submenu for professions that make gear.
- Elite dragons under Nameplates: a gold dragon around the level of elite enemies, silver for rares. Off by default.
- Ignore theme for elite frames and Ignore theme for nameplate dragons under Custom theme: the gold and silver dragons keep their own colors with a theme on. Off by default.
- Hide combat glow under Unit frames: no red pulse on the player frame while you attack. The gold resting glow stays. Off by default.
- Name who interrupted under Cast bars: interrupted cast bars say just Interrupted, as in Classic Era; check this to also see who interrupted. Off by default.
- Instance difficulty under Minimap: the flag the game puts on the minimap in dungeons and raids can be shown, shown on hover or hidden. Hidden by default.
- Shaded XP and reputation bars under Classic bar: the empty part of the bars is half dark, as in Classic Era, instead of showing the world through. On by default.
- Shift-click a talent in the talent window to link it in chat.
- Setting up, switching to or resetting the classic layout offers Classic Era's interface size when yours is different. Players updating on the game's default size are offered it once.
Changed
- Right-click and drop-down menus have Classic Era's black background instead of a bright navy.
- Nameplates match Classic Era's size: the health bar sits where Classic Era puts it, and the game's default nameplate size draws Classic Era's default.
- On the classic layout, buffs and debuffs sit at Classic Era's spots beside the minimap. Buffs you moved in Edit Mode stay where you put them.
Fixed
- Train works for spells and recipes far down a trainer's list, such as recipes that need more than 30 skill. Pressing it did nothing for them.
- The professions key, the micro button and the spellbook's Professions tab open the professions book again. They opened the last profession you used.
- The chat menu and voice chat buttons stay beside the chat on every docked tab. Two of the six buttons vanished on other tabs.
- On the classic layout, the durability figure sits under the minimap, left of the side action bars. It was hidden behind them.
- Interrupted casts on the target, focus and nameplates turn red and fill the bar, and other units' channels and finished casts show green. They stayed gold.
- The classic world map opened in a fight no longer catches clicks around it.
- Turning the theme off or switching themes no longer breaks red buttons such as Edit Mode's Save and Revert All Changes.
- Turning the classic bar off gives the XP and reputation bars the game's own look back at once.
- Turning the classic nameplates off no longer raises an error.
- Small alignment fix on the bag close buttons.
