ENCORE v0.1.0

The first turnkey binary release of ENCORE, an experimental loader for Ableton Live 12+ on Linux using WINE.

Quick install

  1. Download ENCORE-v0.1.0-linux-x86_64.tar.xz below.
  2. Extract it.
  3. Open a terminal in the extracted folder.
  4. Run ./install.sh and follow the guided setup.

The bundle contains ENCORE and its verified Wine runtime. You do not need to compile Wine.

Runtime details

  • Wine 11.13 at the pinned ENCORE revision
  • built on Ubuntu 22.04 with a glibc 2.35 compatibility baseline
  • combined i386 and x86-64 Windows PE support in one x86-64 Linux runtime
  • upstream NTSync support when /dev/ntsync is available
  • automatic fallback to normal Wine server synchronization without NTSync
  • no Proton or Wine-GE Fsync patch set
  • smoke-tested on Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora, and Arch Linux

SHA256SUMS verifies every archive. The exact runtime and source archives were validated by GitHub Actions on Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora, and Arch Linux before release.

Build records:

ENCORE does not contain Ableton Live, plug-ins, user projects, or authorization data. Supply the complete Live 12 Suite application folder from an installed Windows copy, normally C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite, or the same complete folder extracted another way from your licensed copy. The downloaded Ableton installer, a lone EXE, and the inner Program folder are not valid inputs.

ENCORE is experimental and is not affiliated with Ableton or Wine. Back up important Live Sets and prefixes, and please report bugs with your distribution, desktop session, GPU, reproduction steps, and the relevant ENCORE log.
