BHDisplay for macOS & Windows v1.3.6
What's new in 1.3.6
🔓 Back to Windows after logging in to a locked Mac
If the other computer's mouse woke a locked, dark Mac (you can type the password with its keyboard), it couldn't cross back after login until sharing was turned off and on. It now crosses back as usual.
⚡ Smooth shared mouse again (high CPU fixed)
1.3.4's new window kept recalculating its layout (about 95% CPU on the Mac, even when closed), which made the other computer's pointer stutter on the Mac. Fixed — BHDisplay is back to almost no CPU.
🪟 Mac window fits the screen
On a MacBook's own screen the window was taller than the screen and its bottom part couldn't be reached. It now opens no bigger than the screen, can be resized (your size is remembered), scrolls, and becomes one column when narrow.
😴 Switching to a sleeping or locked Mac stays on the Mac
A Mac with its screen asleep sends no picture, so the monitor's Auto Detect went straight back to the other computer ("HDMI 1 has no picture"). Switching to the Mac now wakes it first and waits for its screen. The warning also clears itself after 30 seconds.
🔒 Keyboard & mouse keep working after the Mac locks
When the MacBook locked or its screen slept while the monitor showed Windows, macOS could drop the monitor, and a Windows pointer that crossed to the Mac then couldn't come back. Both directions now keep crossing at the MacBook's edge, and after a restart or reconnect the Mac picks up what the monitor shows by itself.
🖱️ Windows tray menu opens on the first right-click
It used to read the monitor before opening (a second or more with two monitors), so the menu often closed again. It now opens instantly and updates itself.
Also in 1.3.x
🪟⇄🪟 Windows ⇄ Windows
BHDisplay for Windows now shares one keyboard & mouse between two Windows PCs too, the same way as with a Mac: encrypted, paired, copy & paste of text. Install it on both, pair them, and choose "The other computer is on my left / right". Two PCs never switch or turn off each other's monitors.
🔌 Connection lost? Back to normal
If one computer is turned off, goes to sleep, or a cable or the Wi-Fi drops, both go back to normal after 10 seconds, as if they had never been connected: every screen on and each keyboard and mouse at home. When it comes back, they reconnect and pick up the setup by themselves, and shortcuts and menus work again.
🛠️ Fixes
- A monitor scanning its inputs while both computers' screens sleep (Auto Detect) no longer makes a computer turn its screen off. Only a real switch (shortcut, menu, window) does that.
- Windows waits for the monitor to answer after an input change before turning its output off.
- A Mac whose monitor was unplugged and replugged while its output was off turns it back on.
- On Windows, only the monitor ticked "connected to the Mac" is ever turned off.
All changes were security-reviewed before release.
