@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 06:27

Multi Codex v2.4.8

Launch settings now has clearly separated Workspace and Launching sections, more breathing room, and a scrollable body with Save and Cancel always in view. Executable paths and Codex home remain under Advanced.

The CLI terminal picker now matches the app’s colors in light and dark mode. It shows Automatic and only the supported terminals installed on this device, with an installed count and a checkmark for the current choice. Use arrows, Home/End, typing, Enter and Escape to operate the menu with a keyboard.

If a saved terminal has been removed, the picker keeps that preference and explains how to choose an installed replacement. Unavailable terminals do not clutter the dropdown, and preferences are changed only when you save.

Existing account IDs, credentials, conversations, folders and executable paths are preserved. Packages: Linux x86_64 AppImage, DEB and RPM; Apple Silicon macOS 26+ DMG. The Mac package remains unsigned and unnotarized.

Current validation evidence is recorded in the release manifest. Broader distro/desktop checks are tracked separately. Authenticated standalone isolation evidence is carried forward for the unchanged desktop version and backend launch construction.

Showcase and documentation.

Mac/Linux source CI passed before the release builds. All 78 frontend tests, 82 local Rust tests, six release/installer regression checks, eight settings layout scenarios in Chromium/WebKit and nine website browser checks passed. The settings scenarios also passed on both Mac and Linux runners, in both themes at large and small window sizes. Settings evidence.

Mac/Linux package builds and exact-package installer checks passed before publication. The AppImage also passed two native startup checks on Arch/Hyprland and local install/update fixtures, with account, chat and default-login sentinels unchanged. The initial Linux package attempt failed when spawning a disposable test CLI; the targeted and full local Rust suites and unchanged job rerun passed. Sanitized local evidence.

The stable release is published and installed locally with a checksum matching the published AppImage. All six account IDs, credentials and saved launch preferences are preserved. The comparison accounts for 552 protected files: 17 conversations moved to the same account’s archive before publication, with their original contents intact; one configuration file gained workspace entries before publication, with all prior values retained. Those concurrent changes were kept, and both the earlier and current configuration and the previous AppImage are backed up. No missing data or unexplained changes remain.

The installed native app shows all six accounts, CLI controls, the new settings sections and the terminal combobox. AT-SPI menu activation did not complete because the settings dialog closed during activation; complete dropdown behavior is covered by the passing local and Mac/Linux Chromium/WebKit checks. The app is left running.

The updated public changelog passed all nine live browser checks. Website verification.

@github-actions github-actions released this 07 Oct 05:26

Multi Codex v2.4.7

Choose the CLI terminal in Launch settings. Linux supports Konsole, GNOME Terminal, XFCE Terminal, xterm, Kitty, Ghostty, Alacritty and Foot; macOS supports Terminal, Kitty, Ghostty and Alacritty. Installed terminals are detected automatically. An explicit choice is honored, with a clear error if it becomes unavailable. Existing settings default to automatic selection.

Interactive launches now skip the VS Code extension’s helper binary, which can run usage queries while lacking a complete interactive CLI package. Install the full Codex CLI or select its executable in Launch settings. Account launches use the selected account’s saved credentials and isolated Codex/SQLite homes.

A small reminder at the top groups available usage resets that expire within 48 hours across accounts. It appears at most twice per local calendar day, with at least four hours between reminders, including across midnight and application restarts. View the grouped accounts and their expiry details, or dismiss the reminder. Expired, used, undated and stale reset details do not trigger reminders.

The Orange theme preview now uses dark colors in dark mode. Its light-mode preview is unchanged.

Saved accounts, credentials, conversations and existing preferences are preserved during updates. Packages: Linux x86_64 AppImage, DEB and RPM; Apple Silicon macOS 26+ DMG. The Mac package remains unsigned and unnotarized; follow the README’s explicit unsigned-install opt-in.

Validation is recorded in the release manifest. Broader distro/desktop checks remain pending. Authenticated standalone desktop evidence is carried forward for the unchanged desktop version and command construction; terminal choice and interactive discovery are checked separately.

The showcase and docs website lives in the repository’s next folder. Local and Mac/Linux browser checks pass across desktop Chromium, desktop WebKit and mobile Chromium, including navigation, viewport sizing, copyable commands and missing pages.

App CI, Mac/Linux packages and exact-package installer checks passed. The exact AppImage also passed native startup/restart on Arch/Hyprland with unchanged account, chat and default-login fixtures. Local launches in Konsole and Kitty reused the selected real account without another sign-in. Sanitized evidence.

The stable release is published and installed locally with a checksum matching the published AppImage. The post-upgrade comparison preserved all six account IDs and 550 protected files, with zero missing or changed files; credentials, settings and existing conversation contents remain intact. A backup and the previous AppImage are retained. The installed native UI shows all six accounts and CLI controls, and the desktop launcher identifies v2.4.7. The public website passed all nine browser checks after deployment; live-site evidence.

Multi Codex v2.4.6

Launch an account in the Codex CLI from its account row. The terminal uses the account's isolated Codex and SQLite homes and the selected project folder. Inherited credential overrides are cleared, and deletion or cache cleanup is blocked while the CLI uses the account.

Accounts now appear in plan order: Pro, Plus, Go, then Free. Usage refreshes automatically at startup, with the last saved usage visible while a refresh is running or unavailable. Choose Sage, Ocean, Sand, Rose, Plum or Orange in the theme picker, with light and dark support.

Updated launch buttons use app logos and explicit labels. The launcher starts maximized with a normal restore size; Hyprland retains window decorations. README screenshots show the updated accounts and workspace views.

Saved accounts, credentials, conversations, profile paths and launch preferences are preserved during updates. The updater verifies the downloaded package checksum before replacing the application.

Packages: Linux x86_64 AppImage, DEB and RPM; Apple Silicon macOS 26+ DMG. The Mac package has no Apple Developer ID signature or notarization and requires the README's explicit unsigned-install opt-in and macOS first-open approval.

Release verification and its limits are recorded in the validation manifest. Authenticated standalone isolation evidence is carried forward from v2.4.5 for the unchanged desktop version allowlist; this release also checks native launch and profile guards. Broader distribution and desktop validation remains pending.

Mac/Linux CI, release builds, and exact-package installer verification passed. The downloaded Linux AppImage also passed native startup/restart on Arch/Hyprland with unchanged account, chat and default-login fixtures.

The publication workflow published these exact packages as the latest stable release. The local Linux installation was updated through the public latest-release updater, matched the published checksum, and opened with all six saved accounts and all three launch buttons per account. Credentials and settings remained unchanged, and all 490 protected files retained their existing data, including conversation prefixes. A full private backup, 61 consistent SQLite snapshots and the previous launcher were retained. Sanitized upgrade evidence.

Multi Codex v2.4.5

Open each account in VS Code, the standalone Codex app, or both. Each target uses that account's existing isolated Codex home; standalone cookies and app state use a separate desktop-data directory. Existing accounts, profile paths and the global Codex login remain in place.

A simple first-run welcome detects the platform and installed apps. When both launch targets are usable, Launch settings offers VS Code only, Codex app only and Both; Both shows two launch buttons per account. With one usable app, the choice is hidden and that app is selected automatically. Existing installations initially keep their VS Code launch preference. New installations with both verified apps start with Both. Detection runs again at startup, in settings and before launch.

Preferred folder + Browse uses the built-in folder picker. Executable paths and global Codex home stay under Advanced. Linux users can turn off the desktop picker; Mac users never see the desktop toggle or desktop picker, and launch on the current desktop. A repeated VS Code launch opens another window. A repeated standalone launch uses that account's own desktop instance.

Two different disposable accounts passed native standalone credential reuse, refresh, logout, peer isolation and signed-out restart checks on Linux and a Mac GitHub runner. The standalone launch option is enabled only for Codex desktop version 26.930.51102 on Linux x86_64 and Apple Silicon macOS; unknown versions stay disabled until tested. The sanitized isolation evidence records the completed checks without credentials.

The launch path preserves the browser's normal HOME, uses private short aliases for long Mac profile paths, and discovers the CLI bundled with the standalone app when needed. Editing, deletion and cache cleanup are guarded while either app uses an account. A deliberate standalone sign-out remains signed out; a later usage check cannot silently restore stale keyring credentials. These changes protect existing account data during launch and refresh.

On Linux, window detection recognizes the exact database lock held by Codex desktop after Electron rewrites its process arguments. This fixes the false “window could not be identified” error after a successful launch; placement retries still reuse the already opened window.

Launches preserve existing per-account Codex settings. Credential and sign-out writes are atomic, and cache cleanup refuses linked paths into another account.

Local frontend and Rust suites, production frontend build, formatting, packaging and installer checks passed. Mac native CI also passed Keychain and VS Code checks, launched the official standalone app twice with private paths containing spaces and Unicode, observed an on-screen native window, and built and inspected the Apple Silicon app/DMG. These CI fixtures are separate from the authenticated isolation run.

The release build completed all four packages and checksums. The downloaded AppImage passed real native button clicks, folder selection, all three launch choices, restart, live limits, desktop placement and repeat-window behavior on Arch/Hyprland. A running-profile delete was refused after restarting the launcher. The local upgrade preserved all six saved account records and credential files; a full backup and consistent SQLite snapshots were retained. Sanitized local package and upgrade evidence

VS Code needs the official Codex extension installed inside each isolated VS Code profile. The standalone version allowlist remains 26.930.51102; the newer 26.930.61225 has not completed authenticated isolation verification. Mac CI uses the pinned official archived build.

Published at the repository owner's request using the exact tested packages. The Mac DMG has no Apple Developer ID signature and is not notarized. The README Mac commands explicitly opt into the checksum-verified unsigned package; the installer applies a local ad-hoc signature if needed, and macOS still controls first-open approval. Apple's Open Anyway instructions

The actual DMG install and update passed on a Mac runner, including unsigned-install rejection, explicit opt-in, signature integrity, installed app startup/restart, staging cleanup and unchanged account/chat sentinels. Installer evidence

The same run passed AppImage install/update on Ubuntu, verifying the exact installed asset and preserved account/chat and default-login sentinels. These installer tests use the original release-build packages and substitute draft release URL resolution before publication. Native Linux launch and authenticated isolation checks are separate. Linux installer evidence

Install and update scripts are included in the release and its checksums. README commands follow the latest release automatically. Publication requires successful Linux/Mac builds, installer verification, authenticated isolation and all six asset hashes. Developer ID signing and notarization are optional and were not performed. Broader installed-package checks remain pending in the validation manifest. Platform support and validation details

The publication workflow passed and published v2.4.5 as the latest stable release. GitHub's latest-release API and redirect were verified, and both live public Linux README scripts preserved six disposable account/chat fixtures during install/update. Publication evidence. End-user macOS first-open approval was not automated.

Multi Codex v2.3.3

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Sep 06:09

Multi Codex 2.3.3 adds a built-in workspace folder picker. Launch opens a modal over the full-screen app, starts in ~/Desktop/code when available, and hands the chosen folder to the existing Hyprland desktop chooser. The folder browser is read-only and does not open Dolphin or another file manager.

Also includes profile storage breakdown and safe cleanup controls, reset-credit expiry details when reported by Codex, and theme and account-limit improvements. Existing profiles and credentials are preserved during app updates.

@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Sep 05:06

Multi Codex v2.3.0

Hyprland launch flow

  • Opens Multi Codex as a centered floating 1180×760 window without changing Hyprland configuration.
  • Starts folder selection at ~/Desktop/code, falling back to the home directory.
  • Adds a launch destination chooser for the current desktop or Hyprland desktops 1–10.
  • Moves only the newly launched VS Code window and follows it to the chosen desktop, while leaving VS Code open with a warning if movement fails.

Usage and storage

  • Shows reset-credit expiry details, titles, descriptions, and status when Codex reports them, with an explicit fallback when only a count is available.
  • Adds a clickable storage breakdown sorted by profile size, including total, reclaimable cache, and unassigned app data.
  • Adds guarded per-profile cache cleanup that preserves credentials, conversations, archived sessions, settings, workspaces, skills, plugins, and installed extensions.
  • Refuses cache cleanup while a profile is running and keeps full profile deletion behind explicit confirmation.

Interface and documentation

  • Replaces the three-state theme cycle with persisted Light/Dark behavior, circular reveal animation, reduced-motion fallback, matching icons, and the D shortcut outside editable fields.
  • Refreshes README features and screenshots using synthetic demo profiles only.

Verification

  • 32 frontend tests and 44 Rust tests passed.
  • Production build, secret scan, release packaging checks, Linux AppImage/DEB/RPM packaging, and macOS universal DMG smoke tests passed.
