features for handling multi-volume works

  • Add volume… appears in the multi-volume entry, on the right-click menu and in the ⋮ menu. It creates the next volume as its own @book with crossref and volume filled in, keyed in your style (shar-susr1, shar-susr2). It opens straight on the Eprint field so you can paste the ARK. Pasting an n2t.net link stores it as a plain ARK.
  • The Volumes panel in an @MvBook (or @MvCollection etc.) lists each volume with its ARK or URL, an Open button and a Show button. Each volume in turn shows “Volume 2 of …” with Show set and Add next volume, so you can enter a whole set quickly.
  • Citations now follow biblatex’s rules for multi-volume works. A volume gets “Suśruta-Saṃhitā …. Vol. 1. Haridas Ayurveda Series 9 …”. A volume with its own title gets “Main Title. Vol. 2, Volume Title”. The set itself still says “3 vols.”, but single volumes no longer do.
    • This also fixed a flaw that already affected other books: any book with both a series and a volume number came out as “Vol. 18, pt. 18”.
  • The integrity check warns when a URL or eprint field holds more than one link, and suggests separate volume entries.
  • In the list, volume entries now show the author, year and title they inherit, e.g. “Sharma · 1999 · Suśruta-Saṃhitā …, vol. 2”, instead of a blank row.

added intelligent file picker

  • The Files field now has a Choose… button beside it that opens your system’s file picker.
  • It’s always there, even when the entry has no files yet.
  • You can pick several files at once (Shift- or Ctrl-click in the picker). They’re all linked in one step, so a single Ctrl+Z undoes it, and files already linked are skipped.
  • The picker starts in a sensible folder: the one holding a file already linked to that entry, or else your PDF folder.
  • Each linked file now has a small × beside it, which removes the link from the entry and offers Undo. It never deletes the file from your drive.
