Updated web config guide
What's Included
This release contains all binaries and resources needed to flash and use the VictronSolarDisplayEsp device:
- bootloader.bin – ESP32 bootloader
- partition-table.bin – Partition table
- VictronSolarDisplayEsp.bin – Main application firmware
- spiffs.bin – SPIFFS filesystem image (web UI, static files)
- flasher_args.json – (optional) Flashing arguments for automated tools
- README.md – Project documentation and flashing instructions
How to Flash
You can use esptool.py or ESP-IDF's idf.py to flash the device. Example using esptool:
esptool.py --chip esp32s3 --port /dev/ttyUSB0 --baud 460800 \
--before default_reset --after hard_reset write_flash -z \
0x0 bootloader.bin \
0x8000 partition-table.bin \
0x10000 firmware.bin \
0x290000 spiffs.bin- Adjust the
--portto match your serial port. - Adjust offsets if your partition table is different.
First Boot & Configuration
- On first boot, the device creates a Wi-Fi AP (
VictronConfig). - Connect with your phone or computer. A captive portal will appear for configuration.
- Enter your 32-character AES key and other settings as needed.
- After saving, the device will reboot and begin displaying live Victron BLE data.
Web UI
- Access the configuration page at http://192.168.4.1/ if the captive portal does not appear automatically.
- The web UI is mobile-friendly and allows configuration of Wi-Fi, AES key, and display settings.
