Session list performance + Proxy UX: cc-switch toggle, upstream presets, Save & Restart
Overview
A focused release that eliminates the two biggest pain points users hit after v0.1.3:
- The session list getting slow — or temporarily showing "No sessions" — when the local agent session count is large.
- Switching proxy upstreams (especially cc-switch ↔ direct) being a multi-step manual chore.
Release Date: 2026-04-20
Highlights
- Much faster session list when you have many Cursor sessions
- Never silently empty again — transient API failures now show an inline error with Retry, keeping your last loaded list visible
- cc-switch toggle — one click to route upstream through cc-switch; click again to revert to your previous upstream
- Upstream presets — save any upstream combo as a named preset, switch between them instantly
- Save & Restart — when the proxy is running, apply config changes and hot-restart in one click
What's Changed
Performance — Session List
- Batched Cursor enrichment: Previously every Cursor session triggered one SQLite query against
ai-code-tracking.db. Now a singleIN (...)query covers up to 400 sessions per round-trip. - Concurrent scan dedupe: If multiple
GET /api/sessionsrequests arrive while a scan is in progress (e.g. initial load + a WebSocketsession_update), they all share one in-flight scan instead of triggering parallel full filesystem walks. - Per-tool fault isolation:
listAllSessionsnow usesPromise.allSettled. If one adapter fails (e.g. a corrupt Cursor DB), the other tools still return their sessions — instead of the whole endpoint failing.
Fixed — Empty State
- Stale request cancellation: The client now aborts any previous
/sessionsrequest before issuing a new one, so a slow first request can't overwrite a fast second response. - Inline error + Retry: Fetch failures no longer silently clear the session list. An amber banner shows the error with a Retry button; the previously loaded list remains visible.
- Refresh is non-blocking: When you already have a list and a refresh is in progress, only a subtle "Refreshing…" hint appears at the top — the list itself is not replaced with a full-page spinner.
Added — Proxy Configuration
cc-switch Bidirectional Toggle
When cc-switch is detected, the Configuration card shows a toggle:
- ON: upstreams routed through
http://<cc-switch-host>:<port> - OFF: restored to the last non-cc-switch upstream you used (falls back to
Directif none is recorded)
Flipping between modes is one click; no more manually editing two URL fields.
Upstream Presets
New Presets section with:
- Built-in
Direct—api.anthropic.com/api.openai.com - Built-in
cc-switch— appears automatically when cc-switch is detected - User presets — save any upstream combo under a name (stored in browser
localStorage). Hover to delete.
The preset matching your current upstream is highlighted; when no preset matches, a + Save current shortcut appears.
Save & Restart
When the proxy is running and you have unsaved changes, two buttons appear:
- Save — persists config only (previous behavior)
- Save & Restart — saves config and hot-restarts the proxy immediately, so upstream changes take effect without manual stop/start
Backed by a new POST /api/proxy/restart endpoint that performs an atomic stop + start.
Upgrading
npm install -g cc-devtool
# or update desktop app via auto-updaterAll changes are additive; existing config in ~/.cc-devtool/config.json is preserved. Upstream presets are stored per-browser in localStorage (key cc-devtool:proxy-presets).

AI Agent Execution Debugger — First Release with Multi-Agent Parsing, Execution Chain Visualization, and Transparent API Proxy
Overview
cc-devtool v0.1.0 is the first public release. It provides a zero-config AI agent execution debugging dashboard supporting Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex session parsing and visualization — covering skill / rule / MCP / agent hit tracking, file operation analysis, token consumption statistics, real-time monitoring, and an optional transparent API proxy.
Release Date: 2026-03-23
Stats: 9 commits | 70 files changed | +3,800 insertions
Highlights
- Unified Multi-Agent View: Single dashboard for all Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex session history
- Execution Chain Visualization: Timeline, File Impact, Agent Graph, and Dashboard — four complementary views
- SQLite Data Enrichment: Passively reads Cursor and Codex local databases to supplement missing file operations, model info, and token data from JSONL logs
- Transparent API Proxy: Optional API traffic capture for complete token tracking; chainable with cc-switch
- Proxy Control Panel: In-app proxy lifecycle management, configuration, statistics, and data source switching
- Zero-Config Experience: Install and run — automatically discovers local agent data directories
- npm Global Install:
npm install -g cc-devtoolfor instant use - Tauri Desktop App: Native desktop app scaffolding complete (packaging in future releases)
New Features
Multi-Agent Session Parsing
Supports three AI coding assistants' local data formats:
- Claude Code: Parses
~/.claude/projects/**/*.jsonl— most complete data including tool calls, token usage, thinking content, and MCP calls - Cursor: Parses
~/.cursor/projects/**/*.jsonland.txtformats, enriched with file operations and model info fromai-code-tracking.dbSQLite database - Codex: Parses
~/.codex/sessions/**/*.jsonlandindex.json, enriched with token usage and git context fromstate_5.sqlitedatabase
Session Timeline
Turn-by-turn display of the complete AI interaction process:
- User messages and AI responses
- Thinking/reasoning process (collapsible)
- Tool call details (parameters and return values)
- Automatic categorization: file read/write, shell commands, skills, rules, MCP, agents
File Impact Analysis
File operations grouped by path:
- Read / create / modify / delete operation counts
- Aggregated from both JSONL tool calls and SQLite database sources
Agent Execution Graph
React Flow-based multi-agent hierarchy visualization:
- Agent call topology display
- Nodes contain agent type and call information
Dashboard Panel
Comprehensive data dashboard:
- Tool usage distribution (pie/bar charts)
- Token consumption trends
- Shell command execution list
- Skill / Rule / MCP hit details
Raw File Preview
Direct viewing of agent log source files:
- JSONL format: per-record collapsible display with type filtering and keyword search
- TXT format: syntax-highlighted display with search
Data Availability Indicators
Explicit per-session data availability markers:
- Independent indicators for tool calls / tokens / file operations
- Three-level status:
full/partial/none - Includes reason descriptions (e.g., "Cursor JSONL does not record tokens")
Transparent API Proxy
Optional API traffic capture:
- Supports both Anthropic and OpenAI APIs
- SSE streaming response pass-through
- Captured data stored in
~/.cc-devtool/captures/ - Chainable with cc-switch:
Agent → cc-devtool → cc-switch → API Provider
Proxy Control Panel
In-app API proxy management:
- One-click start/stop
- Port and upstream URL configuration
- Capture statistics (count, disk usage, last capture time)
- Global data source switching (All / Local Only / Proxy Only)
- Configuration persisted to
~/.cc-devtool/config.json
CLI Tool
cc-devtool serve # Start dashboard (default port 4173)
cc-devtool proxy # Start proxy only (default port 4174)
cc-devtool serve --with-proxy # Dashboard + proxy togetherReal-time Monitoring
- WebSocket real-time session change notifications
- chokidar watches agent log files and SQLite database changes
- Frontend auto-refreshes session list

Download & Installation
npm Global Install (Recommended)
npm install -g cc-devtool
cc-devtoolSystem Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Node.js | >= 18 |
| OS | macOS / Linux / Windows |
Known Limitations
- Cursor JSONL format does not record tool calls or token usage; supplemented via SQLite and proxy
- Cursor routes API calls through its internal proxy, which cannot be intercepted by cc-devtool's proxy
- Tauri desktop app packaging workflow is still being refined
- macOS code signing and Apple notarization are not yet available
