zisla v0.1.1 Preview

zisla is a native macOS workspace built with SwiftUI and AppKit. Its event-driven, notch-aware surface stays out of the way while you work, expands when it has something useful to show, and follows macOS conventions across multiple displays and Spaces. It works on supported Macs with or without a physical notch.

Complete v0.1 Preview feature set

zisla brings together Now Playing controls, file relay and sharing, secure video and audio downloads, weather, calendar, reminders, Notes integration, configurable desktop tools, clipboard history, Quick Notes, and system utilities. Its privacy-conscious AI activity monitor recognizes supported local CLI and desktop-tool activity, shows task progress and usage trends, and does not read prompt or response content. The included zislactl hook lets other tools report their own activity.

Visuals and dashboard

• Adds a reusable MotionDesign layer, richer light-field animations, smoother page transitions, and more efficient lazy loading.
• Adds frosted-glass visuals and the Liquid Glass Island treatment for macOS 27.
• Refines the island home into an information dashboard, improves dynamic layout around the physical notch, and adds headphone connection feedback.
• Lets the island be pinned at the top or bottom, including orientation-aware button behavior.
• Fixes persistent display states so a black notch-like surface is not left behind when auto-hide is disabled, and pet content expands around physical notches correctly.
• Fixes dashboard sizing, notch-region layout, side-notice placement, and window levels across multiple displays.

Notes, files, and desktop workflows

• Adds PDF processing tools, a mirror, and a standalone teleprompter with automatic scrolling, speed controls, and a return-to-start action.
• Improves clipboard history and rich-text Quick Notes editing and interaction.
• Connects in-app workflows: Quick Notes can be dropped into the teleprompter, while clipboard or shelf content can be dropped into Quick Notes or AI.

Compatibility and Preview status

zisla supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Intel-based Macs and earlier macOS releases are not supported. This Preview has been tested on macOS 26 Tahoe and macOS 27 Golden.

This is an early Preview release, so rough edges and bugs are expected. It uses a free ad-hoc signature and is not notarized. Drag zisla to Applications, then use System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway if macOS blocks the first launch. This free build does not include WeatherKit.

Automatic updates use Sparkle. This package follows the signed Preview feed at preview; the Preview feed and Release feed share the same Sparkle EdDSA key. A manual check can target the other channel, but automatic checks continue to follow the channel built into the installed package. Sparkle does not install lower build numbers, so reverting to an older build requires a manual DMG installation.
