What's new
- Cleaner multiline input and a fixed divider above the two-line status footer.

/cloudand/reasoning, with model-specific effort levels and aneffort:footer indicator. - OpenAI Responses support for reasoning with function tools, including encrypted reasoning context between tool calls.
- Compact MCP summaries and
/mcp verbosefor tools grouped by server. - Codex-style
[mcp_servers.<name>]configuration, withcommand,args,env,cwd, andenabled. Legacy[[mcp]]entries remain supported.
Downloads
All archives contain a compiled, stripped mycli binary, example configuration, README, resolved Cargo dependencies, and build information. The binaries are built from the existing v1.1.0 source tag.

Use SHA256SUMS to verify the downloaded archives. macOS binaries are ad-hoc signed, not Apple-notarized; macOS may require approval for the first launch.
Install
Extract the archive for your platform, then install the binary from the extracted directory:
sudo install -m 755 mycli /usr/local/bin/mycli
mycli --versionExisting installations can replace their current executable with the extracted binary. Keep your existing ~/.mycli/config.toml; the bundled configuration is an example with placeholder credentials.
Validation
The source release passed 265 active workspace tests and offline reasoning/tool-call and terminal checks. Each downloadable build passed 76 CLI/provider tests and a native mycli --version smoke test. The downloaded Linux ARM64 binary also passed the offline API/tool-call and terminal tests on the ARM64 development machine.
Native build and test run.
Linux x86_64 build and test run.
Build workflow
View the release workflow configuration.
To build a release, open Actions → Release binaries → Run workflow, select an existing version tag, and choose one platform or all. The workflow builds the tagged source on native runners, runs tests, strips and checks each binary, and uploads packaged build artifacts. Publishing those artifacts as GitHub Release assets is a separate step.
Compatibility notes
- Modern OpenAI models require a proxy with
/responsessupport. - MCP HTTP transports and other unsupported Codex MCP options are reported explicitly.
- Changing cloud reasoning effort preserves the current conversation; menu selections are remembered for the current session. Use profile
reasoning_effortfor a persistent default.
