Welcome to the official release of Poka v0.3.6! Poka is an open-source, local-first personal AI agent workspace for chat, governed tool execution, human-in-the-loop approvals, app connectors, and computer automation.

  • Desktop Applications: Native Electron packaging for macOS (Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4) and Windows (x64) with embedded FastAPI backend.
  • Governed Action Gateway: Low-risk actions (reads, web search) are automatically audited; high-risk actions (terminal commands, file writes, desktop input) pause for explicit human sign-off.
  • Multi-Model Provider Adapter: Chat Completions, Responses, and Prediction protocols supporting OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek, and local inference (Ollama, vLLM, LM Studio).
  • Keyless Web Search: /search <query> integrated with You.com MCP adapter, works out-of-the-box with no API key needed.

🔑 Verification & Installation

  • macOS: Drag Poka.app into /Applications. If Gatekeeper flags the app on first launch, right-click and select Open, or run: 
    xattr -cr /Applications/Poka.app
  • Windows: Run Poka-Setup-0.3.6.exe and follow the on-screen installer wizard.
