Last Download Manager v1.1.1 - The Native Update 🚀

We are thrilled to release v1.1.1, a major architectural update for Last Download Manager!
This release focuses on making LDM truly native to Windows, significantly reducing its footprint and simplifying the development process.

Key Changes

🏗️ Native Windows Architecture

We have completely replaced the CURL network library with WinINet (Windows Internet).

  • Why? This provides seamless integration with Windows system proxy settings, SSL/TLS security protocols, and authentication.
  • Benefit: LDM now behaves more like a "first-party" Windows citizen compatible with your system's network configuration.

📦 True Portability (Single Executable)

We have removed SQLite and all external dependencies.

  • Standalone: LDM is now distributed as a single LDM v1.1.1.exe file. No extra DLLs, folders, or garbage files.
  • Zero Bloat: Download history is managed via lightweight XML embedded in the app. Just download and run!

🛠️ Developer Experience (Visual Studio 2026)

  • The project has been fully migrated to a Visual Studio 2026 solution (.sln).
  • No more complex build chains—just open LastDM.sln and hit Build!

📥 Usability Improvements

  • Smart Defaults: LDM now automatically detects and defaults to the standard Windows Downloads folder, so your files go exactly where you expect them.
  • Cleanup: Removed various unused assets and legacy build scripts.

How to Install

  1. Download the release.
  2. Run LDM v1.1.1.exe directly. (No installation or extraction of libraries needed).

Happy Downloading! ⚡
