The client talks to Digitally Networked Storage when that pack is on the world. It does not require DNS: waitReady() is false if DNS is missing, and you keep using your own storage. If this addon is a DNS extension, you can still require the DNS pack yourself.
DNS does not run your machines. It connects them to a Machine Interface so items can move, and so you can receive power and talk to storage and autocraft.
You talk to DNS through a few blocks. The names are easy to mix up:
| Block | What it is | Coordinates you pass |
|---|---|---|
| Gateway | Items, unique items, and autocraft on a data network | That Gateway |
| Machine Interface | Faces your machine. Inserts inputs, drains outputs, optional energy | Your machine, never the Interface |
| Power Adapter | Energy port on a power network | That Power Adapter (you subscribe there) |
| Power supply | Sneak-toggle on the Interface (Interface energy on/off) | Not a block you pass |
Do not save Machine Interface coordinates — you never pass the Interface.
A Power Adapter is different: pull and push use that block’s coordinates. DNS does not follow your cables to find an Adapter for you. Remember the Adapter you use, or find it again with hasTag("xxdmogxx_dns:energy_port").
The client remembers which of your machines are paired in your pack’s world dynamic properties. Call forgetPair when your block breaks (Pairing, wake, outputs).
Copy mcbe-ipc into your pack next to the client.
Start with Installation (files, waitReady, world-load recipe).
