Mirage 3.5.0 — Record a journey, replay it

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 10 Aug 10:40

New

Record a journey, then replay it as a spoof.
A saved route is a path walked at whatever pace you pick. A recorded journey is the path and the timing: go for a walk with Mirage recording, and replaying it later retraces it exactly — the pauses, the slow bit uphill, the forty seconds you stood at the crossing. That's the whole point, because a line travelled at a perfectly constant speed is the easiest kind of movement to disbelieve.

Recording works whether or not you're spoofing: with nothing running it captures your real movement, with a session live it captures the spoofed track. Play back at 1×, 2×, 4× or 10×. It's in Places → Journeys, and a running recording puts a REC badge on the map so you always know it's going.

Your routes follow you.
Places already synced to your account; routes do now too, so a path drawn on your iPhone is there on your iPad. Renames and deletions travel with them.

A troubleshooter that runs the checks itself.
Settings → Troubleshoot works down everything a spoof needs — pairing file, tunnel, network route, certificate trust, VPN, permissions, movement controls, version — and puts the fix on the same row as the failure. Two are applied right there; the rest open the setup they belong to and hand you back to the list.

Nothing is read from a remembered flag: the tunnel is actually probed and the certificate's trust is actually tested against a live intercept. Copy this report bundles the results with the diagnostic log, so asking for help can start with an answer instead of twenty questions.

Fixed

The WiFi certificate step no longer hangs on "Preparing…".
The certificate is created by the tunnel the first time the WiFi engine runs, and onboarding moved on three seconds later — so the profile was often just a moment behind, and the step sat on a spinner with only Skip as a way out. It now waits up to twelve seconds and then says what's actually wrong. Save profile to Files is also offered from the start rather than only after an install fails, since that route skips the local server entirely and is the way through when Local Network permission is what's blocking you.

Mirage 3.4.1 — Find the Lock Screen controls

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 06 Aug 11:08

A quick follow-up to 3.4.0.

Fixed

  • The Lock Screen controls are findable now. 3.4.0 added steering from the Lock Screen, but those buttons only appear when Movement controls is switched on in Settings — and that setting is off by default, so most people had a feature with no way of knowing it existed. Spoofing with it off now shows a line on the live card, "Turn on Movement controls — joystick, routes, and steering from the Lock Screen", which taps straight through to the setting. Shown only on GPS override, since the Wi-Fi engine can't be driven either way.

Known limitations

  • Starting on mobile data with an external tunnel still needs Mobile Data off for a moment; cause unresolved.

Install: Settings → Updates in the app, or grab Mirage.ipa below (unsigned — SideStore / AltStore re-sign on-device, which is also what makes the Lock Screen controls work).

Mirage 3.4.0 — Steer from your Lock Screen

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 06 Aug 10:07

Steer your spoof from the Lock Screen.

New

  • Steer from the Lock Screen. A running spoof can be moved without opening Mirage: the Live Activity gains turn left, go/hold, turn right, a pace button and stop — on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Two buttons rotate your heading 45° at a time and one starts or holds you, so you can walk a street grid without ever bringing the app up.
    A draggable floating joystick isn't possible on iOS: Picture-in-Picture is built for video and its window consumes touches before your content sees them. This is the same idea as buttons you can actually press.
  • Saved places sync to your account. Favourites back up and merge in on your other devices — set them on your iPhone, they're on your iPad. Renames and deletions travel too.
  • A first run that demonstrates the app. Onboarding replaces its feature list with a demo that plays itself: tap the map, pin drops, place card rises, Teleport is pressed, spoof goes live — narrated beat by beat.

Changed

  • A held spoof drifts like real GPS. A perfectly still coordinate is one of the cheapest tells that a location is fake, so the reported fix now wanders a metre or two. This does not clear iOS's "simulated location" flag — apps that read that flag still reject the override.
  • The Live Activity now also appears while there's something to steer, not only when the link drops. A parked teleport still shows no card.

Fixed

  • The WiFi certificate installer no longer spins forever. When the local profile server couldn't get on the network — usually a pending Local Network permission — the button processed until it silently gave up. It now fails fast and points you at "Save profile to Files", which skips the local server entirely.
  • Settings no longer claims you're spoofing when you aren't. A fresh launch read a leftover coordinate and showed "Spoofing " while the map correctly showed nothing.

Mirage 3.3.1 — Backtrack & spoofing fixes

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 05 Aug 11:49

Three fixes from 3.3.0's new features.

Fixed

  • Backtrack returns to where you actually were. After stopping a spoof and starting a new one, Back to start went to the previous spoofed spot instead of your real location — the origin was captured from a stale coordinate. It's now taken from the real fix, and the spoof coordinate is cleared on stop.
  • Places and Settings stay reachable while spoofing. The live control card replaced the search orb, leaving no way into Places (or Settings, reached from it). A search orb now appears in the right-edge rail whenever the big orb is hidden.
  • The "Backtrack" quick action no longer overflows its tile. The full "Back to " label spilled over the card; the tile now reads "Backtrack", with the destination name kept on the map's wide button.

Install: Settings → Updates in the app, or grab Mirage.ipa below (unsigned — SideStore / AltStore re-sign on-device).

Mirage 3.3.0 — Backtrack, share, and a fresh face

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 05 Aug 09:51
5eca37f

Retrace your steps, share a spot, and a cleaner face.

New

  • Backtrack. A spoof session remembers where it began, so returning is one tap — Back to on the live card and in Places. Only offered when there's an origin to go back to, and never when you're already on it.
  • Share a pin. Every place card gains a Share button beside Teleport and Save — it hands off the coordinate and a Maps link.
  • Places, rebuilt. Quick actions up top (paste a coordinate, drop a pin, backtrack); saved spots, routes and recents in grouped cards with colour-washed icons; and a real empty state with a paste shortcut instead of text floating over a void.
  • A live status card in Settings. Settings opens with spoofing state, place, coordinate and link health — the thing you opened Settings to check, first instead of last, with a soft pulse while live.

Changed

  • Redesigned sign-in and onboarding. Both commit to one dark world with the pin as the hero and a solid button. The old gate layered adaptive colours over a fixed gradient, so fields clashed and the sign-in button looked disabled; onboarding now flows into it seamlessly.

Fixed

  • Tapping a point of interest picks that spot. A tap that landed on a POI popped Apple's own place card — hours, "Open in Maps", sometimes Safari — instead of dropping your pin or a route waypoint. It now behaves like tapping empty map.
  • The VPN link is tidier across reconnects — observers no longer stack up; the connect flow runs once instead of being re-registered each time.

Known limitations

  • Starting on mobile data with an external tunnel still needs Mobile Data off for a moment; cause unresolved.
  • Some apps (e.g. Uber) read iOS's "simulated location" flag and reject the override.

Install: Settings → Updates in the app, or grab Mirage.ipa below (unsigned — SideStore / AltStore re-sign on-device).

Mirage 3.2.0 — Public transport that rides real track

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 03 Aug 14:01

Tram, metro, train and ferry journeys now follow the actual line through the actual stops instead of the road running beside it, built from each region's own GTFS feed.

New

  • Real rails. Walk to a real halte, ride the real line geometry through the real intermediate stops, walk off at the far end. The Netherlands ships inside the app; Berlin and Milan are downloadable from Settings → Public transport.
  • One change per journey. When no single line fits, the planner looks for a change — and a train trip can be fed by a tram to reach the station, which is how the trip is really made. Scored on estimated door-to-door time, so it won't propose a change that saves thirty seconds of riding.
  • Pick a mode from the place card. Tap a spot, tap More, and bus / tram / metro / train sit beside Walk and Drive.
  • An ETA that counts the stops. Riding time, dwell at every remaining stop, and the slowdown either side of one — plus stops remaining.

Changed

  • Buses stay on roads, deliberately. A bus drives on the road, so road directions are already the right geometry for one. Bus journeys still stop and dwell like a bus.
  • Transit presets sit behind a disclosure, off by default.

Fixed

  • A journey that can't ride track now says which of four reasons applies, and logs the actual distance to the nearest stop.
  • Train and metro journeys were refused for being too far from a stop: one 800 m limit was applied to every mode. Each mode has its own now (tram 800 m, metro 1 km, rail 2.5 km), and a trip inside an installed region is no longer reported as outside it.
  • "Saved" stays said. The Save button lit up for two seconds and reverted, which reads as the save having failed.

Update via Settings → Updates in the app, or install this IPA.

Transit packs v1 — Berlin, Milan

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 03 Aug 13:18

Optional transit geometry packs for Mirage 3.2+. The Netherlands ships inside the app; these are downloaded from Settings → Public transport.

Built with scripts/build-transit-pack.py from each region's GTFS feed. Tram, metro, train and ferry only — buses ride MapKit road directions, which is already the correct geometry for a bus.

Region Size Lines
Berlin & Brandenburg 1.7 MB 3109 patterns, 2957 stops (VBB)
Milan 55 KB 146 patterns, 831 stops (ATM)

Mirage 3.1.0 — No Wi-Fi needed, public transport, and a spoof that stays put

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 03 Aug 11:16

Ride the bus, spoof without Wi-Fi, and stay where you teleported to.

New

  • No Wi-Fi needed. Mirage used to treat Wi-Fi as the only alternative to mobile data and told you to find a hotspot — even with a tunnel already up. It now recognises the tunnel as its own route. On Mirage's own VPN a spoof starts on cellular with nothing else required; on an external tunnel it needs Mobile Data off for a few seconds to connect, then runs with data back on, and later teleports in that session need no route at all.

  • Public transport. Bus, tram, metro and train join walk / run / cycle / drive. They don't just cruise slower — they stop, waiting 15–60s at each stop depending on the type, and easing in and out rather than arriving at full speed. Plot waypoints and those become the stops; route to a place instead and stops are placed automatically at a spacing that suits the vehicle. Tucked behind a "Public transport" disclosure so it costs no space unless you want it.

  • Your pairing file, somewhere you can reach it. Every import now also writes a dated copy to Files → On My iPhone → Mirage → Pairing, and Settings can share it off the phone. Drop one back into that folder and Mirage picks it up again — so reinstalling no longer means redoing the pairing.

Changed

  • Stopping a spoof no longer drops the tunnel. It stayed up for LocalDevVPN users and came straight back down for everyone else, so every teleport paid full setup again. Settings gains live tunnel status and an explicit Disconnect.
  • Teleporting again reuses the live session instead of rebuilding it, so a second teleport needs no network route at all.
  • The developer port is discovered, not assumed. iOS doesn't reliably put the pairing service back on 49152, and a wrong port used to read as "can't reach the tunnel" and send you to check a VPN that was fine.
  • Honest messages when the tunnel is up but unreachable. On mobile data alone Mirage now says so, and names the tunnel you're actually using, instead of telling you to start an app you already started.
  • Wi-Fi certificate install actually installs. It's served to iOS the way iOS expects, and an already-trusted certificate is now recognised with the engine off.

Fixed

  • A new teleport no longer snaps back to the previous one. The health watchdog was comparing your position against a stale target and "repairing" the spoof by re-applying where you used to be. Your location now holds until you change it or stop it, and a genuine revert is re-applied within seconds.
  • Walk and Drive work on mobile data. They skipped the connection check entirely, so on 5G the map animated a journey your phone never took and reset itself ten seconds later.
  • Dismissing the Mobile Data prompt no longer leaves "Applying" on screen.
  • Failures are visible. A failed teleport put its reason behind a card still offering "Teleport here"; the reason now comes first, and Retry genuinely retries instead of only clearing the message.
  • No more waiting six seconds for a prompt Mirage could show immediately.

Known limitations

  • On mobile data with an external tunnel, starting a spoof still needs Mobile Data off for a moment. Mirage asks, remembers your target, and starts by itself the instant the route appears — but the underlying cause is unresolved.
  • Some apps (e.g. Uber) read iOS's built-in "simulated location" flag and won't accept an overridden location. That's a limit of GPS override, not a Mirage bug.

Mirage 3.0.3 — Polish

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 30 Jul 09:50

Polish.

  • Confirmation dialogs (start from your location, turn off spoofing, reset) now use a clean in-app sheet instead of a system pop-up.
  • The GPS-override setup guide is easier to read — clearer step numbers.
  • Clearer wording on the optional Wi-Fi setup step.
  • Reliability and UI fixes under the hood.

Mirage 3.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@xXWapixelXx xXWapixelXx released this 29 Jul 22:45

A round of fixes from v2.8.0 feedback, plus a restored device build.

  • Sideload installs now go straight to external-tunnel setup; the built-in VPN option is hidden for sideloaded builds.
  • More reliable connect: longer timeouts and a gentle retry for the "coordinate confirmation timed out" error.
  • Live Activity now only appears when something goes wrong, not during normal spoofing.
  • Removed the misleading free-teleport messaging and counter.
  • UI: Favorites/Recents taps register reliably; the map-tap pin is centred on your touch; consistent icon sizes.
  • Fixed the device build (GoSpoofer packaged as a dual-slice XCFramework).

Known limitation: some apps (e.g. Uber) read iOS's built-in "simulated location" flag and won't accept an overridden location — this is an iOS-level limitation of GPS override, not a Mirage bug.
