A lightweight Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) environment for sequencing tracks.
This was achieved with WebAudioFont , MidiWriterJS and
The audio synthesizer - ./SYNTH. is a demonstration which uses your browser's Web Audio Api synthesis with purely and without any audio files needed. The workstation instruments have the same nature as this preview.
MIDI - This is a protocol that sends instructions, not sound. It transmits data which your browser read and translates to something like "Play Note C4," "Press hard (velocity)," and "Stop playing." Since it relies on the browser's audio api, this allow the code to be written in strings of codes making it extremely lightweight because it contains no audio files.
WebAudioFont - A JavaScript library for the browser. It loads instrument samples (SoundFonts) into the browser's Web Audio API. In this app specifically, MIDI can sometimes refer to WebAudioFont to search for related instuments and translates it into a playable sequence.
Features
- Multi-track sequencing with Piano Roll interface.
- Support for Samples (imported from Editor), Legacy Synths, and WebAudioFont Instruments.
- Per-track Effects (Distortion, Reverb, EQ).
- Global Project settings (BPM, Duration, Snap).
- Export full mix to
.wav,.mp3, and.ogg.

- The web app runs locally on your browsers, no data collection are made. Your privacy is secured.
- You can use the "E" to export your file as .json playlist to quickly load the same project back onto the web-app. This app does not have an autosave so make sure to always save when neccessary.
- There is a dedicated UNDO and REDO button when needed, this is also true for LOCAL-APP.
