Bouquet Gifting & Affection System Guide
Applicable Versions: MCA: Romantic Expansion 1.0.0+ (Minecraft 1.20.1 / 1.21.1)
The Bouquet and Affection system forms the foundation of romantic relationships in the mod. Players can express interest by gifting bouquets, and track their romantic progress with other players through an affection value, which is viewed using a Genealogy Book item.
The bouquet is the primary item for initiating romantic interest.
(Players can check JEI/NEI in-game for the exact recipe.)
Q: How do I check my affection with another player?
A: Ensure you have a Genealogy Book anywhere in your inventory. The affection value should then be visible when interacting with the target player or in your relationship UI.
Q: Where do I get a Genealogy Book?
A: (Add crafting recipe or acquisition method here—check JEI/NEI in-game.)
Q: Is the Genealogy Book consumed when used?
A: No. It is a permanent informational item that you keep in your inventory to view relationship data.
Q: Do I need to hold the Genealogy Book in my hand?
A: No. It only needs to be present in your inventory. It does not need to be in your main hand or off-hand.
Q: What happens if I give a bouquet to someone who already rejected me?
A: You can try again after the 30-second cooldown. Affection may affect future acceptance chances.
Q: Can I see other players' affection toward each other?
A: Typically, you can only see your own affection toward others and theirs toward you. The Genealogy Book shows your personal relationships.
