The APK no longer embeds the dependency-metadata block that the Android build tools add by default — an opaque, app-store-oriented record of the app's dependency tree that cannot be verified against the public source code. Removing it lets F-Droid accept this build, rebuild it from source, confirm it matches this signed APK, and publish it under the developer's own signing key — existing installs update in place with data intact.
