Screencap now keeps itself up to date. Once a day it checks for a new version and downloads it in the background. It installs the update the next time your screen locks, which takes a second or two, and opens Screencap again. If you quit Screencap first, the update installs then.

Install now. While an update waits, the menu bar panel shows an arrow button with a green dot. Click it, or choose Restart to Update from the menu bar icon's right-click menu, to install the update right away.

Settings → Updates. Turn automatic checks or automatic installs off, see the version you are running, or check now. With automatic installs off, Screencap shows the update and asks before installing it.

Signed updates. Each update and the list of updates are signed with the project's key. Screencap installs an update only when both signatures check out and the new app carries the same Developer ID signature. The daily check sends only Screencap's version.

Coming from 2.0.0. Screencap 2.0.0 cannot update itself, so install this version by hand once: quit Screencap, download Screencap-2.1.0.dmg, and drag Screencap to Applications, replacing the old copy. Your history and settings stay. Later versions install themselves.

Screencap-2.1.0.zip holds the same app, and Screencap-2.1.0.sha256 their checksums.
