RIS Linker v1.0.0 (Zotero 7 plugin)

RIS Linker is a Zotero 7 plugin that bulk-imports .ris files from a folder and automatically attaches matching PDF files (same basename) as Zotero attachments. It is designed for large libraries and repeated runs, with clear summaries and report logs.

Recommended workflow (with RIS Generator)

This plugin works best with RIS Generator, which creates .ris files next to PDFs in bulk:

  1. Run RIS Generator on a PDF folder to create foo.ris next to foo.pdf

  2. In Zotero 7, run RIS Linker to bulk-import those .ris files and auto-attach the corresponding PDFs.

Key features

  • Bulk import from a folder

    • Import many .ris files in one run from a selected folder.
    • (Current behavior) Subfolders are not included.

  • Auto-attach PDFs by basename

    • If foo.ris is imported and foo.pdf exists in the same folder, the PDF is attached automatically.
    • This enables “PDF folder → Zotero library” onboarding with minimal manual steps.

  • Large-batch friendly + Cancel

    • Designed to avoid freezing Zotero even for large batches.
    • Supports Cancel via cooperative cancellation (stops safely and reports progress up to the cancellation point).

  • Safe re-run (duplicate skip by PDF path)

    • Duplicate handling is conservative and safe:
    • If the same PDF file path is already attached, the plugin skips re-attaching/re-importing in a way that supports repeated runs (idempotent behavior).

  • Report & summary (does not pollute the input folder)

    • Shows a final summary such as Imported / Skipped (Duplicate) / Failed / PDF Linked, etc.
    • Saves a detailed report under the Zotero data directory, not inside the input folder.

Installation (.xpi)

  1. Download the .xpi file from the Assets section of this release.
  2. Open Zotero 7 → Tools → Add-ons (Add-on Manager).
  3. Click the gear icon and choose Install Add-on From File…
  4. Select the downloaded .xpi.
  5. Restart Zotero if prompted.

Note: Zotero may show a warning for unsigned add-ons depending on settings/version. Proceed only if you trust the source.

Privacy / Security

  • No network access (local processing only).
  • No telemetry.

Tested environment

  • Windows 11
  • Zotero 7.0.30 (x64)

Known issue

  • The plugin may disappear after restarting Zotero (intermittent, repro is unstable).

    • Workarounds:

      • Reinstall the .xpi (Add-ons → Install Add-on From File…)
      • Confirm you are using the intended Zotero profile (especially if you use multiple profiles)

    • This issue is under investigation.

RIS Linker は、フォルダ内の .ris を一括インポートし、同名PDF（basename一致）を自動で添付する Zotero 7 用プラグインです。大量処理・再実行を前提に、フリーズ回避・キャンセル対応・分かりやすい集計とレポート保存を重視しています。

推奨ワークフロー（RISジェネレーター連携）

本プラグインは、PDFフォルダに対して .ris を自動生成する RIS Generator と組み合わせると運用が簡単になります。

  1. RIS Generator を使って PDF フォルダに foo.pdf → foo.ris を一括生成

  2. Zotero 7 で RIS Linker を実行し、.ris を一括インポート＋同名PDFを自動添付

主な特長

  • フォルダからRIS一括インポート

    • 選択したフォルダ内の .ris をまとめて取り込みます。
    • （現状）サブフォルダは対象外です。

  • basename一致でPDF自動添付

    • foo.ris の取り込み時に、同じフォルダに foo.pdf があれば自動で添付します。
    • 「PDFフォルダ → Zoteroライブラリ」導入がほぼ手作業なしで進みます。

  • 大量処理向け設計＋キャンセル対応

    • 大量データでも Zotero が固まりにくいように設計しています。
    • キャンセル（協調的キャンセル）に対応し、停止時点までの結果を安全に集計します。

  • 再実行耐性（PDFパス基準の重複スキップ）

    • 重複判定は安全側（保守的）です。
    • 同一PDFのパスが既に添付済みの場合、再添付・再インポートをスキップし、繰り返し実行しても破綻しにくい挙動（再実行耐性）を目指しています。

  • サマリー表示＆レポート保存（入力フォルダは汚さない）

    • Imported / Skipped (Duplicate) / Failed / PDF Linked などの集計を完了時に表示します。
    • 詳細レポートは Zoteroデータフォルダ配下に保存します（インポート元フォルダにはログ等を作りません）。

インストール方法（.xpi）

  1. このリリースの Assets から .xpi をダウンロードします。
  2. Zotero 7 を開き、ツール → アドオン（アドオン管理）へ。
  3. 歯車メニューから 「ファイルからアドオンをインストール…」 を選択。
  4. ダウンロードした .xpi を指定します。
  5. 求められた場合は Zotero を再起動します。

※ 署名のないアドオンに関する警告が出る場合があります。配布元を信頼できる場合のみ導入してください。

プライバシー／セキュリティ

  • 通信なし（ローカル処理のみ）
  • テレメトリ等の収集なし

  • Windows 11
  • Zotero 7.0.30 (x64)

既知の問題

  • Zotero再起動後にプラグインが消えることがある（再現不安定、調査中）

    • 対処法：

      • .xpi の再インストール（アドオン管理 → ファイルからインストール）
      • 複数プロファイルを使っている場合、意図したプロファイルで起動しているか確認

    • 現在、原因を調査しています。
