RAB v0.1.0 alpha

RAB is a local-first room and speaker check for music producers. This release can
measure room tone, broad frequency response, left/right balance, and repeatability,
then export a conservative EQ starting point with the raw evidence saved locally.

Download the correct build

• Apple Silicon Mac: RAB-<version>-macOS-arm64.zip
• Intel Mac: RAB-<version>-macOS-x64.zip
• Windows 10/11 x64: RAB-<version>-Windows-x64.zip

macOS installation

1. Unzip the download and move RAB.app to Applications.
2. Control-click RAB and choose Open.
3. If macOS blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose
   Open Anyway for RAB.
4. Allow microphone access when asked.

These alpha builds are ad-hoc signed rather than Developer ID notarized, so macOS
will identify the developer as unknown.

Windows installation

1. Unzip the complete RAB folder to a permanent location.
2. Run RAB.exe inside that folder.
3. If Microsoft Defender SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway only
   after confirming the download and its SHA-256 checksum match this release.
4. Allow desktop applications to access the microphone in Windows Privacy settings.

The Windows alpha is unsigned, so Windows will identify the publisher as unknown.

Safety and privacy

Turn the monitor or interface level down before the first sweep. RAB generates all
test signals locally, makes no network requests, and stores the measurement under the
operating system's Documents folder in RAB/<timestamp>/. Read SAFETY.md before use.

This is an alpha decision aid, not a certified SPL meter, a replacement for calibrated
measurement hardware, or an automatic system-wide room correction product.
