First stable release of OxiTide — a high-resolution TIDAL player for Linux, written entirely in Rust.

Highlights

  • Bit-perfect playback with USB Rawlink direct-to-DAC output (plus ALSA / PipeWire), gapless Hi-Res / FLAC streaming, DSP chain (PEQ, convolution, tape / tube, widener, limiter, resampler).
  • Visualizer with bars / peak / line / spiral / mirror / dots / scope modes, themes, sensitivity profiles and a panel opacity slider; synced to the audio.
  • Lyrics drawer with synced, click-to-seek lines; queue drawer; Now Playing view; live LUFS / DR.
  • Floating play bar that collapses to a pill (or just an arrow while a panel is open), with a pixel-font stream-info display (codec · depth · rate · bitrate ⇄ output device).
  • Instant pause / resume on USB Rawlink — the stream stays locked at the DAC while paused.
  • MPRIS2, Last.fm / ListenBrainz scrobbling, HTTP / JSON-RPC remote control, system tray, update checker.

Added

  • Lyrics drawer (play-bar button / l).
  • Floating, collapsible play bar; state remembered across launches.
  • Stream-info display under the play-bar icons (bundled Dogica pixel font, OFL), alternating with the output device every 10 s.
  • Instant pause / resume on USB Rawlink (silence is streamed while paused; resume continues from the buffered audio).

Changed

  • Lyrics / DSP / visualizer buttons light up while their panel is open; new visualizer and lyrics icons.
  • Visualizer and DSP panels sit flush on the play bar (or on the window edge while the bar is collapsed); fullscreen visualizer accounts for the bar.
  • Play-bar layout polish (margins, centring, volume button styling, play-mode icon size).

Removed

  • The info strip above the play bar and its Preferences switch — its contents moved to the play-bar info display and the lyrics drawer.

Install

Download the package for your distribution below and install it with your package manager, e.g.:

Arch users can also install from the AUR: yay -S oxitide-bin.

Requires a TIDAL subscription. OxiTide keeps its own settings and login (~/.config/oxitide) and installs cleanly alongside hiresTI.

Note: Debian 12 is not supported (its GTK is older than the 4.14 minimum this app requires). Debian 13+, Ubuntu 24.04+, Fedora 43+, Arch, and openSUSE Tumbleweed are covered.

OxiTide is proprietary freeware — free to download and use. Third-party open-source components are acknowledged in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file shipped with each package.
