BookshelfBar 0.1.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 05:34

First release of BookshelfBar, a macOS menu bar app for KEF LSX II and LSX II LT speakers. Requires macOS 26 or later.

  • Smooth Start: wakes the speakers silent and fades in from silence to your volume, instead of the full-volume surge over USB. Set the volume while they're asleep; it applies when they fade back on.
  • Standby that stays put: turning the speakers off works even while an app holds an audio stream open, and they stay selectable in the macOS Sound menu.
  • Keep Awake With Screen, a shapeable volume curve, and full speaker controls (input, desk/wall mode, bass extension, treble, balance, power settings).

Install

brew install --cask yeutterg/tap/bookshelfbar

Or download BookshelfBar-0.1.0.dmg below, open it and drag BookshelfBar to Applications.

This build isn't notarized

The first time you open it, macOS says it can't verify the app. Click Done, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway next to "BookshelfBar was blocked", confirm, and click Open Anyway again. Or run:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/BookshelfBar.app

On first launch macOS asks for Local Network access, which BookshelfBar needs to find and control your speakers. See the quick start.
