Runner 0.4.4 fixes the terminal width of restored sessions and makes auto-resume something you opt into.

Changed

  • Auto-resume on launch is now opt-in. Runner no longer resumes your agents automatically when it starts — including if you had been relying on the previous default. Agents spawning unprompted at launch should be a choice, not a surprise. Turn it back on in Settings → General → Resume running agents on launch; sessions are still marked at quit either way, so enabling it takes effect from your next launch.

Bug Fixes

  • Restored sessions come back at the right width. A session brought back by auto-resume could fork its terminal at a stale width, leaving its resume banner and first repaint hard-wrapped — and for Claude Code, which keeps its scrollback across a resume, those mis-wrapped lines were permanent. Two things caused it: a terminal that measured itself while its session was still stopped had that measurement silently discarded, and the pane then believed it had already reported the size, so it never sent it again. Panes now record their geometry whether or not the process is running, and re-assert it the moment a session goes live. This also repairs any other case where a resize was dropped in flight — a session exiting mid-resize, or a window handing off a shared session.
