Runner 0.7.4
The terminal stops being a pane. Every chat tab and every mission gets a terminal drawer that slides up from the bottom, so a shell sits beside the agent instead of taking one of the split's cells.
Added
- Terminal drawer in chat tabs. ⌥F12, the new
panel-bottomglyph in the header, or the command palette's New terminal opens a drawer under the pane split at the focused chat's working directory. Drag the hairline to size it (120–600 px, remembered per tab), add shells with+, switch them with the chips, hide with the chevron or ⌘W from the drawer. Hiding keeps every shell running; a chip's × closes that one, with the same foreground-process confirmation a terminal pane gets. A shell that exits shows the Shell exited card with Restart in place. The drawer belongs to its tab — switching tabs switches drawers. - Terminal drawer in missions. The same drawer under a mission's Feed and runner tabs, owned by the mission: switch between Feed and a runner's terminal and the shell stays put, at the mission's working directory. Drawer shells are never crew slots — they stay out of the Feed, runner statuses, the sidebar, and attention — and mission Stop / Resume act on slots only. Archiving the mission closes its shells.
- Lazy relaunch. Drawer shells are no longer respawned at launch. Their chips come back, and each shell restarts the first time its drawer is actually shown — the active chip on open, the others when clicked. A hidden drawer costs nothing after a relaunch. Terminal-only tabs keep respawning eagerly as before.
- The empty pane offers New chat only, as a single ⌘N New chat button that reads your actual binding; ⌘N fills a focused empty pane before it opens a new tab.
Changed
- Panel toggles use one glyph family. The sidebar, side panel, mission rail, and drawer toggles now draw Codex's pair — a short tick while the panel is hidden, a full divider while it is open — in the same 24-unit space and stroke as every other icon. The solid-fill glyphs and the drawer's raised pill are gone.
- Fork moved beside Stop. The chat header's left cluster acts on the session (icon · title · ⋯ · Stop · Fork); the right cluster only toggles surfaces (split · drawer · side panel).
- RECENT is now RECENTS in the sidebar and the command palette.
Upgrading
Sparkle offers this update to every 0.7.x install; older installs on the 0.6.x line pick it up through the normal update path. Existing tabs and missions open with the drawer hidden; nothing about pane terminals in terminal-only tabs changes. ⌥F12 is the default drawer binding and can be rebound in Settings → Keyboard shortcuts.
