bilingual_book_maker helps users create multilingual versions of books and other documents.

1. Use only material you are entitled to translate. This includes works for which you hold the necessary rights, works whose license or the rights holder's permission allows your intended use, works in the public domain under applicable law, and uses otherwise permitted by applicable law. Owning or buying a copy does not itself grant translation rights.

2. Check translation and distribution rights separately. Translation is generally an adaptation (a derivative work). Personal use is not automatically exempt from copyright restrictions. If you share a translation, ensure that your license, permission, or applicable law also allows distribution of everything included in the output, including any original text and images. The same license or permission may cover both translation and distribution. For Creative Commons works, check the specific license and version, including attribution, NonCommercial, ShareAlike, and NoDerivatives conditions where applicable. For example, NoDerivatives licenses do not authorize public sharing of translations. Public-domain status varies by jurisdiction; modern translations, editorial contributions, forewords, and illustrations may be protected separately from an older original.

3. The MIT license does not license book content. The project's MIT license covers its software and associated documentation; it grants no rights to input books or other third-party content and does not automatically apply to generated files. Use of the output remains subject to applicable law and any relevant licenses or permissions. The tool does not determine copyright ownership or verify that your intended use is permitted.

4. Preservation is not rights verification. For EPUB output, the tool carries over source attribution and rights metadata where it can. This does not establish that translation or distribution is permitted. Check the output and retain or supply attribution, copyright notices, license information, and indications of changes as required by the applicable license or permission.

5. No warranty; limitation of liability. The software is provided “as is,” without warranty, as set out in the project's MIT license. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the authors and copyright holders disclaim liability arising from use of the software, as set out in that license.
