Initial open-source development preview of Ablation, a local CLI and review GUI for prompt experiments.

  • Import request JSON, exported logs and HTTP captures using configurable field mappings.
  • Keep fixed evidence, compare prompt candidates and scenarios, and inspect actual request/response diffs.
  • Add inline review comments; copy a handoff to a conversation or use a configured local Agent runner.
  • Replay records model tool calls as evidence without executing them.

Requires Python 3.11+ on macOS or Linux. Download the wheel below, then install it:

ablation demo --open

The demo is synthetic and makes no model requests. PyPI publication and registry-based upgrades are disabled for this preview; use the reviewed GitHub assets. SHA256SUMS covers both distributions. See the README and release-review document for validation scope and limitations.

Validation: GitHub CI passed all five jobs: 96 Python tests and wheel installation on macOS/Linux with Python 3.11/3.13, plus the offline browser integration test.
