gitlines 1.0

The first public release of gitlines, a native macOS WidgetKit app that keeps GitHub activity visible on your desktop.

Highlights

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly activity views, including monthly week-by-week summaries.
  • Six native widget themes: Default, Blockwork, Glasshouse, Phosphor, Broadsheet, and Arcade.
  • Additions, deletions, commits, repository activity, peaks, and averages at widget scale.
  • A small host app for connection, refresh, period, theme, and layout controls.
  • Built-in update checking for future free releases.

Privacy

  • Your GitHub personal access token stays in the macOS Keychain.
  • GitHub requests are made by the host app directly to api.github.com.
  • The widget receives display-ready snapshots only—never your token.
  • gitlines doesn’t share your GitHub credential or activity data.

Compatibility

  • macOS 14 or later
  • Universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs

Download

Download gitlines.dmg, open it, and drag gitlines into Applications. The app and disk image are signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

gitlines.zip and appcast.xml power the built-in updater.
