Breaking: the plugins' weapon sprite is gone. The Missile Repeater art in
ConEx and ConEx Override is not Paul Richeson's, so the pack no longer carries
it:
- removed
conex/weapons/andoverride/weapons/, and the pictures of the
weapon frompictures/(ConEx 1.2: PICT 210, 211; ConEx Override: 1108, 1109,
6076, 6077) - in its place,
weapons/missile-repeater/: a stand-in missile for testing,
a plain 16×16 line drawn bytools/build_pack.py, turned 10° per frame, with
sheet, mask and alpha sheet in the ships' layout.catalog.jsonlists it
under a top-levelweapons;loadWeapon(slug, base)loads it, and the 1.0
formloadWeapon(edition, slug, base)still works
New: the konex edition. Two more ships by Paul Richeson, Advisor and
Citrus, which first flew in konex (2005) and were never in a plugin:
konex/ships/advisor/,konex/ships/citrus/: 36 RGBA frames (konex's 64×64
textures, the plugins' rotation order), sheet, mask, sheet with alpha,
target, shipyard and comm pictures, andship.jsonwith konex's own statssources/konex/: konex's original TGA files andspecs.xml, rehosted from
yodacon/konex (CVS revision 1.3, 9 August 2005), so the pack still builds
fromsources/alone
Text
- The readmes and ship descriptions have their spelling corrected; each
ship.jsonkeeps the exact 1997–98 wording indescription_originaland
escort_original, and the archives insources/are unchanged - In the readmes, the GeoCities home page and mailbox are marked inactive, the
beta testers' 1997 e-mail addresses are left out, and the 1997–98 terms are
marked as replaced by the GPL - The edition READMEs no longer list what is held back from
pictures/ - ConEx's 1997 title picture and fleet picture lead the README and the
showcase page, credited to Paul Richeson, 28 November 1997
Lineage and credit
- ConEx GL (1998), Joshua Bussdieker's first standalone ConEx in C and OpenGL,
kept in a private repository before konex, on Paul Richeson's account - Advisor and Citrus were rendered by Paul Richeson; konex itself is Joshua
Bussdieker's
Fixes
- The demo flies konex's units and gives a small edition ConEx 1.2's fleet as
targets; the fleet flyby spaces any number of flights evenly round its lap
(a third flight would have sat on top of the first)
