  • simpleiot-bin updated to Simple IoT 0.28.5. The web portal now listens
on port 4223 instead of 8118, and the QEMU machines forward 4223 to the host
    in place of 8118.
  • The source-built simpleiot unit is updated from 0.18.5 to 0.28.5,
matching simpleiot-bin, and now ships the same service settings.
  • The TUI captures your board's serial console. Map a USB serial adapter to
a machine on the Setup page and the boot log appears in a new Serial tab, is
saved to build/serial/<machine>.log as timestamped text, and stays available
    while you work. Enter on the tab attaches a full terminal to the board;
ctrl-t q returns. From a shell or Claude Code, yoe serial attaches,
yoe serial log reads the capture, and yoe serial send types at the board,
all while the TUI keeps the port. Machines declare their console speed with
serial = serial_config(baud = ...); the Raspberry Pi and BeaglePlay machines
    already do.
  • yoe deploy options now work when written after the unit and host, as the
docs show them. --host-ip also now applies when a yoe serve is already
running, so devices that cannot resolve .local names can install from it.
  • yoe serial, yoe config show, yoe key, yoe serve and
    yoe device repo start instantly
instead of taking several seconds, so
reading the console log or sending a line to the board no longer waits on the
whole project to load. yoe config show no longer lists every unit; use
yoe desc <unit> or the TUI for that.

To update, run: yoe update
Or download the binary for your architecture and place it in your PATH.
Note: Yoe is in heavy development. We recommend cleaning your build directory and re-creating projects (yoe init) with each new release.
