Final Python Release

  • v0.9.1 is the final release of the Python/PyQt6 edition of MeasureLab. Development of this edition ends with this release.

Added

  • Measurement Console:
    • Added a five-pane layout with two instruments above and three below.
  • FFT Optimization:
    • Added optimization coverage indicators for standard, medium, and huge FFT sizes, including measured and estimated plans for both processing precisions.

Changed

  • Startup and Navigation:
    • Displayed the splash screen earlier, prepared common FFT plans and up to four recent or basic modules during startup, and deferred the remaining pages until needed.
    • Standardized the initial window size and improved lazy page loading and status refresh responsiveness.
  • GUI Theme:
    • Refined measurement controls, menus, group boxes, and window styling across light, dark, and system themes.
  • Documentation and Maintenance:
    • Documented the final Python release, refreshed affected widget screenshots, and strengthened lint, typing, and GUI regression checks.

Fixed

  • GUI Shutdown:
    • Stopped module timers and background work during widget cleanup and canceled deferred page loading when the main window closes.
  • Settings:
    • Refreshed calibration values when returning to Settings and used active double-precision FFT plans during optimization.
  • Spectrum Analyzer:
    • Kept translated controls within the widget size limit while preserving accessible start/stop descriptions.
  • Goniometer:
    • Kept the plot background and direction labels consistent across themes.
  • Release Notes:
    • Preserved the complete changelog section when the version number is repeated in its body.

Removed

  • Plot Comparer:
    • Removed the Plot Comparer module, comparison actions, and saved comparison-session state while retaining shared export utilities.
