New

  • Subscriptions (the page was called Broadcasts): the senders you follow in a rail, like Channels, and their posts as a feed of cards, newest on top, with Reply privately, Forward, Copy text, Open in window, Archive and Trash. Every mailbox starts subscribed to the Bitmessage digest (BM-5oSrHVwbsQYPKmePHfqQJZr6eibiqj9); unsubscribing sticks.
  • Update notices. ynotbit hears signed announcements from its release address without subscribing, and shows a banner when a newer version is out. Download opens the GitHub release page. Network → Notify about new ynotbit versions turns it off.
  • Pictures in letters. Insert them from the + menu, the right-click menu, or by dropping files on the letter. Bitmessage has no attachments, so a picture travels inside the text as a standard Markdown data: URL, shrunk to fit one letter. The reader shows them, PyBitmessage's inline pictures too. Only PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP load, and nothing remote is ever fetched.
  • Forward a letter from the reader, its window, or a feed card.

Faster

  • One database for network objects. The node keeps them in a single objects.sqlite instead of one file each, so new posts and letters are picked up on the next refresh instead of after a slow folder scan (it could take 10–20 minutes). On first start the old cache is removed and downloaded again, about 4 minutes; your letters are untouched.
  • Retention: up to 2 GiB and 90 days of network objects by default (Network → Retention settings…).
  • Re-checks on a 27k-object cache: importing a key takes about 5 minutes instead of 43, and adding a subscription about 10 seconds. Trying a message against your identities is about 6× faster.
  • The filter box searches in the background; typing no longer freezes the window.

Fixes

  • The lock screen no longer cuts off the vault's name and path on macOS, and scrolls when the window is short.
  • Replies drop the other person's ynotbit signature from the quote.
  • New letters start with a one-line signature.
