WizZ Desktop v1.3.0 — Automatic Updates & Release Channels 🚀

WizZ Desktop v1.3.0 is here!

This update focuses on making future releases easier to install and maintain. You can now choose your preferred update channel and install future Windows updates directly from the application.

What's new

Automatic updates for Windows

No more manually downloading and extracting a new ZIP for every release.

• Download future updates directly from the app.
• Verify downloaded packages using SHA-256 checksums.
• Install updates when restarting the application.
• Keep your existing settings and personal data.

The initial installation of v1.3.0 is still manual. Automatic updates become available once you're running this version.

Stable and Beta channels

Choose your preferred update channel in Settings.

• Stable: Public releases intended for regular use.
• Beta: Preview releases when available through the configured update source.

Your preferred channel is saved between sessions.

Improved release infrastructure

The Windows release workflow now supports automated publishing from release branches, with downloadable ZIP archives and accompanying checksums.

Installation

Download the Windows build from GitHub Releases, extract the archive and launch WizZ Desktop.

If you're already using an earlier version, install v1.3.0 manually once to enable automatic updates for future releases.

Source-based installations continue to require manual updates.
