Neton v0.1.0

First release of Neton — structured local network observation & diagnostics for AI agents, part of the BIT ecosystem.

What's included

  • CLI (neton, all output JSON, --pretty supported, piped-stdin JSON merged over args):
    • info — hostname, OS, arch, default outbound IP (UDP-connect probe, zero packets sent)
    • interfaces — name, IPv4/IPv6, MAC, best-effort status
    • ports — listening TCP + bound UDP sockets with pid / process name (--pid filter)
    • dns — system resolver lookup with IPv4/IPv6 arrays and elapsed ms
    • ping — TCP connect probe (no ICMP, no root)
    • probe — concurrent TCP probing of host:port targets (thread pool, default concurrency 32)
    • http — request summary: status, timing, headers (sensitive ones redacted to length), body preview
    • serve — BIT Remote HTTP API on 127.0.0.1:8753 (GET /health, GET /invoke-actions, POST /invoke, optional --token Bearer auth)
  • 42 tests (unit + CLI/serve integration), CI on Linux/macOS/Windows, release workflow attaching platform binaries.
  • Apache-2.0 licensed. Observation/diagnostics only — no offensive features.
